Got a new chain this arvo and just happened to get a new set of boots too (Mrs P doesn't know yet - shhhh). Kerry at Motohaus as usual did me a good deal and gave me a cold beer as well - top shop!

Well it looks like the three of us, that is SDU and her brother on I will not be going now.
So have a Bourbon or two for us and of course have a great and safe time there.
Feel the fear and do it anyway
Don't confuse education with intelligence.
There are alot of highly educated idiots out there.
For this past week I have been doing just that, and wondering what turn the weather is going to take.
I found some pictures from the Brass Monkey 2004.
by GhostBullet
We did the oposite, the sun shone for about 15-30min, and we though F&^k it jumped back on and went onward gingerly. It was perfect timing, as the weather came in again I was told... That brass was one of the most memorable![]()
The number of people that dropped and broke bits off there bikes, or pride was crazy.
Those are good photo's of the 2004 Monkey. We couldn't get over the Crown Range the day before (saturday) had similiar problem. Mate, almost got to the top and found that once you stopped moving forward, your stuffed. Great difficultly holding the bike up. He slipped tryin to turn around and buried a Guzzi footpeg into his ankle. So we had prior experience, for next day's circus. It was the first year that I can recall being breathalysed on entering the rallysite. I thought it was reasonably warm at the site and remember a light drizzle during the night. Problem was it wasn't drizzle it was snow. No problem we head home thru Ranfurly heading for the Pig Route, once we started getting up in elevation, (You know when the bike in front's track's have disappeared when you get to where you last saw them that it's getting higher) Someone in front had stopped, we got into the situation with many bikes in front also stopped, while we were dithering around like headless chooks a tour bus comming towards us slides into the watertable. I immediately took the initiative and directed (well winged a lot really cos of the day before's problem's) that we head back to Ranfurly and get acommodation until the next day. We got the last motel unit in town . What pissed me off about it was our unit, the 5th one. The 1st four were occupied by mufti cops in the rooms watching Sky instead of being out on the highway helping us poor defenceless motorcyclists over the passes. I suppose as we were never going to be able to exceed any sort of speed limit, there was no revenue. Recently I was on a ride with some KB'r members and they we got pulled over by Plod for travelling too close. Travelling over the pig route was a classic example of travelling too close. If someone in front stopped you couldn't, you had to go around him and wait for your turn to come to a stop.Misserable night in Ranfurly weatherwise it was pretty good atmosphere in the pub tho. Next day you wouldn't have known that it had snowed , wasn't even any patches on the top's
2 more sleeps before I head off.
Got some oggie knobs this arvo after seeing the 2004 photos. Just kidding, I was going to get them anyway, and was just passing the bike shop as you do!
