Well Well Club Captain - does that mean you get to ride up the front now? Thanx Chris for info on gear but have got my gear going by car for our wee party - sounds like it is going to be a gooood weekend. Just brought a set of saddlebags for the Trophy but not have not fitted them yet - pipes possibly in the way!

WEll if you guys can make it to Hyde at around 10:30-11am to the coffee shop you would be able to meet up with those of us doing the adventure ride to the Brass. I think we do the seal section over the Hyde hill and then go native again (oops thats not very PC nowadays - native grasslands of course).
Jantar is considering coming down to meet up with us there as well.

OK all the Dunedin riders doing the sealed road ride meet at the Shell Station on Anderson's Bay road ready to depart at 9:30am, ride via Outram and Middlemarch to Hyde to arrive between 10:30-11am for coffee etc, Then on to Ranfurly to refuel and have lunch before riding on to the site. You will be there in good time to grab a good tent site and a bonfire etc.

There ya go Al, job done - don't argue with the bloody time either - you need to get going and get up there around 2 ish or you'll end up in the cheap sections!!

    Toughen up man

Hey if you guys are going via Middlemarch and get tempted to do the George King Memorial drive take it really quietly around the first bit just after the Outram Bridge and as you head up the first hill - we were through there today doing some intensive bike testing??? - anyway theres a whole heap of stock truck effluent spilt on the road and its as slippery as anything. Theres a bit of this stuff on some of the corners on the way up the hill as well so take it easy.

I'm the first rider back from the Brass, didn't get past Outram, hands soaking wet, couldn't see out of visor (with it up I was pierced by needle-like rain, down and I fogged up), feet and hands frozen, daughter on back frozen (in spite of us looking like the Michelin women) so made the reluctant decision to turn back at 11 am due only to the weather. I'm sure the ones who made it up earlier in the morning are having a great time, good on you guys. I hope the KB'ers I talked to at Shell at 9.30 made it okay too. Looking forward to pics and stories
