Good post OAB. Perhaps it 'clears the air' - perhaps not. Ixion was very clear in his stated reason, yet the cynic in me cannot help but wonder about his longish silence after his nosebleed thread. I hope he is physically well, and not making a excuse not to announce something more devastating?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Was thinking the same thing. Ixions a good bloke and he came across as rather "thicked skinned" to me.....

Well said OAB, as has been said many time before, the mods do a thankless task, and from what I can see on this specific site, do a really good job. There will always be someone wishing to stretch the boundaries, The world would be a nasty place without a "LITTLE" moderation, To all the mods I say, keep up the stirling work,

The reasons I log on are:
    1. To catch up with friends.
    2. To organise rides or to annoy people until they ride with me.
    3. To ask and get help for any problems I might be having with the bike/riding etc.
    4. To read informing threads, that might help me become a better rider.
    5. And to laugh at some of the sillyness that goes on in KB.
    6. Get lots of encouragement.... and mostly from people I dont even know... thats Awesome.

And I get all that and MORE!!!!

If I dont like what someone has posted I just ignore it... its easy. I didnt even realise anything had changed with the mods until everyone started mentioning it... I still dont get it.

Anyway, I have meet alot of nice people on KB, lots of cool interesting personailities .... I really dont have a problem with anyone, guess my tolerance is quite high? Its almost like someone has died, its depressing. I hate those.... "Goodbye Threads".
I'm with you Mel on everything you have said here. I'm never one to complain too much and I enjoy the positives. If I see stuff I can't be bothered with I move on. I don't have a bad bone in my body so never really bag anyone, I'm here for fun.

The turnout at our lunch yesterday was a measure of how many people we have met that are happy to get together and we are so happy its all going to happen again guaranteed.

I don't like too many rules and I am for freedom of speech, but seeing I'm not a mean arse maybe that's easy for me to say.

I hope the community just cheers up and gets on with living a positive life.
    Cheers

Great post (one of the best ever), nice sentiments, clear statement of intent and still tons of sea room for me to navigate on.

    No problems here!

    Well done!!

Cheers OAB for sharing the info with us, much appreciated.
I have not seen any significant changes since this site caught my attention, some minor ones yes, but nothing significant.
MSTRS, I hadn't considered this angle, I too hope you're wrong.
I still see plenty of 'personality' on the site, and I enjoy meeting the KBers face to face and partaking of their hospitality and humour in person, long may it remain so.
Mods, it is a tough position you find yourselves in, my sympathy for what it is worth, keep it up, I for one appreciate the effort.

I feel that you need not justify your reasons as to why you do the things you do.

The rules are there for everyone and are being enforced by the mods and senior mods and on that note I do not see the need for the mods to justify their reasons behind the things they do I do expect people to get cranky when they are caught out but to act mature about the situation, admit they fucked up and carry on. (Har har, yea right)

That being said. Well written OAB.

Why do people have to make a big deal and public declaration that they are leaving anyway? Why don't they just stop contributing to the site and be done with it?

Instead, dramas have to surround the "leaving" event

I don't believe people ever leave anyway - they might just stop contributing
for a while and thats about it.

I've seen it heaps of times in here where people "leave" then after a while you see their threads start filtering through again....like they just can't resist it

    Capital *Meh* from me.

This site has changed plenty since I've been around. I don't agree with the direction that the administration has taken, however, all it amounts to for me is just sifting through more crap looking for the gold.

It's still there, just a little more rare.

    Life goes on.

I read Ixion's thread and had no comment, doesnt bother me who's here and who's not to be honest. He pointed the finger and that does not bother me either, i know theres two sides to every story and OAB gave us his side, im still not bothered, or care to much really. My reasons for being here are along the lines of Lissa's.

Agreed Mark, but have to admit that with the knowledge Ixion has it's a genuine loss to the KB knowledge base.

I'm here for networking for the most part,a fantastic source this place has been to date. A little sorry some of the characters are sidelined atm but certainly isn't the end of my world.

Christ...you'd think we were all a bunch of blouses not motorcyclists!
Good or bad,you mod's have a shit of a job to do at times so onya.

Oh well I'm off to pay homage to the Kaimai's on one of the machines in my garage.
Maybe a few more from here ought to try riding more than they type and stop winging about things they can't change...
