the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
Im pretty sure that many moons ago when I lost my license for a mandatory 28days, I just rang them the day I was valid again and they mailed it to me.
Having said that I probably rode around with no license in my wallet for a week before it arrived.
Or in my case, the incompetent fucks lose it and you have to pay for a new one.
Heres hoping you dont have to go down that road![]()

Lost mine ages ago, gutted cos they did the shittest job of finding me and I didn't have a car at the time. They had the right addresses and accused me of dodging them, I asked when they came, he said cos it was a 2 hr round trip from the base in Taupo (and he did it 4 times! hahahahahah what does that cost? heheheheh) it was always in the day on weekdays when I was at work. Then they got me in AK and was going to take my licence off me. I said I wanted to keep it for ID and he said ok, and went. I drove safe as for 3 months then got legal again. The end

When the police sent a taxi, whoops, I mean Baycorp representative to do their job for them ( as in ask for my licence and ask me to sign paper work accepting that I have no licence for 3 months ), I explained that I had left it at work and could not hand it over.
Turns out that even though it is not legal for me to present it as a licence if I am pulled over, it still works well as photo id, which is good because I can't remember where I put my passport.
The upside is that on 17 August 2007 when I am legally allowed to drive again, hello - there it is already in my wallet. No waiting around for a week or so for it to be delivered, and no chance of some f#%kstick (other than myself) misplacing it between now and then.
Funnily enough, the only reason I have had to use it as a photo id was in order to obtain a limited licence so I can keep my job, and therefore not become a financial burden to the taxpayers by going on the dole so I can sunbathe and surf my cares away. (everyone needs some kind of dream or goals to strive for ).
tis a strange country we live in...
