have to work outa weekend that it can be done. I busy for the next few. That is partly the route we took on the 4 points tour and made opotiki by about 2 in the afternoon so we could go further into civilization before stopping for the night.

We could carry on to rotorua or taupo but the next couple of weekends are out one I am working and two I am shifting house

Oh yeah just up the road from u cowboyz so your see more of ol'e yellow going past

yeah i just figured opotiki was about halfway - that route is about 1300km all up so i didnt think we'd wanna do much more than 650 in a day fi we had to do another 650 the next!!

i've never been around the top myself but even highway 2 from gisborne thru to opotiki looks like it would be pretty good too

awesome. have to have a few quiet ones to initiate you you the ashhurst boys. It does involve buying a kwaka though.........

you will love it. fantastic road up there. word of warning though. when you see a road sign that says "uneven surface" it actually means "road went west about 6 months ago and we haven't got round to fixing it yet, be prepared for a 4 foot drop"

Count me in on this one definitely! Sounds like a great ride, and the road between Gizzie and Opotiki is amazing! And as Cowboyz said, watch out for roadworks! Another thing is that petrol stations can be few and far between, so I'll have to take that into consideration - no worries. I have an operation either late this month or early next, not quite sure exactly, which will stop me riding for a few weeks, so hopefully we can do this before then.

That would be great keep a eye on the threads the rides a fun and be be confusing at times when lead buy someone out of district umm ANZAC day rings a bell
