It aint the wind, it's just that we only really have one direction to head, if we wanna go for a hoon, so most of us are pretty familiar with the road, not sure about the time it takes tho, only ever tried to time it in a van, and got so bored with it, I forgot to check the clock at the top.

13 minutes would be a bit slow these days with the Kaitoke twisties all straightened out.

Well, as a Wellingtonian from way back, it's difficult for me to think of you lot as arrogant. But I've just got a new Daytona haven't I. Can I be arrogant now please?

And last time I rode down to the fair city everyone waved, Wellie is so biker friendly

Excuse me now, I have to go and buy a new cleaning rag for my new bike, I wouldn't want to get it dirty now

Ahhh! So the new Triumphs do still have oil leaks. Hard to be arrogant when your always stooped over, wiping up oil matey. I will concede to the arrogant colour though, and thought you made an arrogant TEC...

    ...welcome to the fold!

and note how we are arrogantly expanding our boundaries. I'm sure the whole Kiwi Biking community will soon be full of arrogant wankers as they all want to emulate the Welly Crew.

ummm...I dont want to sound arrogant here, but I think Deano was refering to a smaller group than the entire Welly riding community. It would seem, that a small bunch who usually ride together, and party together, have been tarred with this brush. I'm not overly fussed as to the rumor myself, but I was surprised to hear it none the less.

Wellington as a whole, has a very cool biker pod, and most are very friendly and welcoming to all, as are the w*#nkers in question, but since they are only really seen riding together, I think people have mistaken that to mean they aint interested in anyone else riding, partying, or socialising with them.

Deano, if you are a half decent scratcher on a modern bike and break 9 mins bridge to bridge you can be considered reasonably good. But I have times from the seventies written down somewhere ? I'll dig them out and pass them on. (not on here though, I don't want to be responsible) Gaz.

Well we did it in 15 minutes last night - in the wet, in the clouds and in a 2.2 auto station wagon - I wasn't pushing it either so I think there is definitely room for improvement.

Repsol + dry road + minimal traffic (and on my new racetecs)...I think 9 minutes should be a cinch.......
