    Mmm, good point.
However, I am sure Pav wouldn't misappropriate the funds... But in saying that, those who make weekly contributions may be better to do it here, as I am sure the "Welfare Fund" will be there for all who have a nasty experience??

Hey agreed 1000%. I am sure Pav wouldnt do that but when you go to the site it kinda gives the appearance of putting money into a "Fund" whereas with Riff we know it goes all to Shaun and his family.

    Alright!!!!

The nice folks at Neptune Mfflers have very kindly donated a new SV650 muffler to be auctioned, all proceeds going directly to the Harris family. Link here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...00#post1089500 for details.

Also, direct to the TradeMe auction

I can relate with the help and what the family and freinds are going through, my son had a motor X accident and was in an enduced comma for six weeks and in hospital for 18 months so all the help you can give the family would be awesome. what you have started and what other KB bikers are doing so far is absolutely tremendous, in the background supporting is the way to go and no dought when they get home his close freinds and family need to queitly support them.
    Good on you Kiwi Bikers.

Email we received from Fionas (Shauns wife) sister.

    :spudwave:

To all of Shaun Harris fan's our local Road Racing legend, has been seriously injured in an accident in the Isle Of Man TT races.
He is in a critical but stable condition, and has had surgery on his leg. His partner Fiona and daugther Petra are with him at present, and it has been indicated that he could take anywhere up to 6 months to get back on the road to recovery.
I have seen the amazing support that so many have to offer shaun and those that have expressed an interest in helping to support by way of a donation to meet any unexpected costs. If you would like to assist please log onto www.mnz.co.nz. These donations will be logged and managed by motorcycling nz. Thanks again to the great spirit that has be shown by so many.

    Great stuff!

Awesome effort on the donations guys, it makes me proud to be a KBer.

For the record, I will not donate my money via MNZ. My reasons are as follows.

    I'm a Kiwi Biker.
    Shaun's a Kiwi Biker.
    We made friends through KB.
A KBer motivated Shauns descison to support me for the upcoming season.

As there's a choice in this instance, I will not be dictated to where the donation I make to my mates family will be made.

I ask the protaganist where the MNZ donation drive was for Loosebruce, DSS3, Motobob, Inline4, Uncle B and Flyin in recent times?

Please people, if you're inclined, donate generously to the MNZ fund for Shaun and his family. Especialy if you're unsure of Riff raffs or my integrity.

I agree with your thinking 100% White Trash, and my donation will go through KB for the exact same reasons as yours

I doubt anyone will doubt your or RR's integrity... however like you say, there is another option if people feel they need it.

I don't think anyone is doubting Riff Raff's integrity - I think it was just that some people don't actually know who she is (difficult to believe I know but true!). In this case I can understand some hesitation. Shaun's thread has prompted quite a few new people to sign up who understandably don't know who she is until explained.

    Good point Jill.

I'm Jimmy Mair, recently I was approached by Shaun (after some prompting from a mate of ours) with an offer to ride for his Moto Dynamix team for the upcoming season. Since then we've become pretty good mates, I'm looking after his trailer and 4WD untill he returns. My partner Sue (Riff raff) has also got to know Shaun pretty well over the past few months. Well enough for Shaun to actually let her help work on the bike at meetings. Even I'm not allowed to do this

We want to do our bit to help, and giving KBers a place to combine their donations for Shaun and Fiona seemed a perfect way of doing it.

I agree with ya WT on who to donate through. i'm a KBer, met Shaun through KB and know him as a friend like you and Sue.

It sounds funny but I kind of understand why MNZ wouldnt have done so for Bruce and Daryl, as it wasnt a racing related accident. However, I believe they should (maybe are) helping Paul as his was a racing accident.

I do not doubt your integrity, however I guess as they do not know KB as well, the family are happy to go through the standard MNZ donation process. They can only be guided by who is around them, as was the case for Bruce's family.

Shaun told me he doesnt believe in luck, but I believe he is a very lucky man to have a second chance at life after a serious crash, something I have pondered a lot, I know he has tons of support and tho it will be long, will recover and I think everyone helping in a big way or small are awesome.

I don't have any issues with where people are donating. It really doesn't matter. The most important thing is for people to be 'donating' a little bit of their time each day on thoughts and warm fuzzy vibes for Shaun's recovery.
