Awesome pics.. love the ones taken just as you are riding.

Let's just say it's not just the cagers who know they're getting passed by Shadows!!! LOL, when he's not trying to make you follow him in the wrong direction!! hehe
aha... I remember following a certain Kendog once... the wrong way!

Yes, those ones were a great surprise and the plan is to get some more of the crew taken from the pillion seat - should be good!

Yeah was good to see you and as I said above to see you waving as we went back through Carterton too. See you on another ride sometime when you're free to join us.

I thought the lollipops were from some people in a van that turned up but maybe it looked that way. It was a guy in his 60's (guessing his age) walking around doing it because when I went to my bike to get my visor cleaner he was doing it then. Would that be the owner?

I got two, one heart shaped and one not - spoilt eh - gave them to my girls when I got home.
    Cheers

I think you ignored the Doppler effect and incorrectly applied the time delay between auditory perception and optical perception to sportsbike velocities rather than sportster velocities to come up with your 5km estimation. Don't worry, those are both common mistakes.
If you apply the simple formula (x(½f)-1(n/f(xf³+n²))-160.934kph)/60 to your estimation you'll find that we were actually only heard from a range of 342 metres.

It can be problematic when they freak out, look over their shoulders to see what the fuck is making all that noise, and steer into me.

I am no longer accepting responsibility for that incident. I suspect you are just a closet Harleyphile.

Well, you were probably more than 342 metres in front of me. Jeeze.

Seriously though, it can't really be that loud. I have got a nice new WOF after all.

Maybe my school physics is all forgotten and wrong, but would the direction of Mervs travel and relative speed also impact on the doppler effect and auditory perception.

Or perhaps his hearings going off in his old age

Did you hear him? Unlikely out front like you were. I was just dodging the rocks your back tyre was picking up and chucking at me.

Yeah, I only heard him once when I briefly folowed and passed him after the turnoff to Mauriceville fiasco (sp). Was a lovely note.

I also did my share of following. As I recall it was a pretty yellow bike, 2up out of Alfredton.

86GSXR...aka Al Daytona.....nah, henceforth I shall call you "Flicker"!!

As we cruised through a section with some loose crap, the only thing I heard was the 'ouch' as the stones 'flicked' up, one bouncing off my cheek. That'll teach me to ride with my visor up.
