Yes he'd be happy for that. And he'd be keen to come up with us. Staying in his batch we would want to limit those staying with us, though I guess others could organise accomodation elsewhere. We just need to organise a date then we're good to go probably. Are we thinking winter, spring, summer?

The other consideration is Murray has his bike for sale so not sure how much longer he will have it to ride with us before it sells.

Cold Kiwi is last weekend of August, so how bout mid July?

Just over a weekend? Up to Turangi Sat (~300 km), home via Napier (~420 km) or Wanganui (~340 km trickier) or backtracking on Sunday

OR- Perhaps take the Friday avo off work and ride up to Turangi, round Taupo on Sat (~200 km), then back on the Sun

I'd probably prefer Sat and Sun only.

    Rapa Road Trip

When: Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July.
Where to: Turangi via Roads that Kinje is deciding and I cant remember. (prob will decide on the day knowing us)
Reason: Cause we are hardcore.. and my first Big Ride out of the Rapa Area.

Meet up at Kinjes in Masterton at 9.30am. Or alternatively at Mobil Masterton at about 10amish on Saturday 21st.

The Rapa Riders are staying at someones bach with limited space but if anyone else wants to tag along then you will have to find your own accommodation for the Saturday Night.. recommended places by Skelstar and Chanceyy in the thread are Extreme Backpackers and Club Habitat. Drinkees on the Saturday Night, hopefully I am not too saddle sore to enjoy them.. (Tired I mean!)

    Thermals and Beer a must.

Weather dependant of course. Dont lose me cause I dont know the way!

    Loose plan

We are probably looking at going up through Fielding, back road to Taihape (Cheltenham, Kimbolton...). Then Desert Rd to Turangi.
Hopefully on the Sunday it will be nice and we can ride up to Taupo-Napier then home.

Like Lissa said, others are welcome to ride with us but you would need to organise your own accomodation. And of course once in Turangi we could all spend the evening at a pub somewhere for

    True.

Hondas have high standards so you being a Suzuki rider wouldn't be worthy.

I am going to gently step around the Honda/Suzuki discussion and say I am really looking forward to this trip.

Hehe- quite fitting- I've just been reading the Americas Cup thread in Rant and Rave and theres talk of Brad Butterworth and Russel Coutts switching teams...

Sorry KD (I actually don't mind the switching- TNZ=>Alinghi (They're proffesional sportsman and had done all they could with TNZ), Honda=>Suzuki )

Back round on topic- yeah I'm really looking forward to it. Should be a great weekend *prays for fine weather*

Murray spoke to his folks last night and checked batch is free which is good and he's getting the keys senty down.

Not sure if I put this in PM to everyone or not but:

The batch has 2 rooms and a lounge and a sleepout.
1 room has 2 single beds, 1 room has a double, and sleepout has a double.
Bring a sleeping bag coz we don't want to have to deal with cleaning sheets yadayadayada.
There should be off street parking but may not be enough room in garage for all bikes, perhaps bring a lock if you have one.

More details will be posted as they emerge

    Sounds very tempting

But rather than go through feilding to kimboltom why not through Ashurst along the Pohangina road then take the Pohangina valley east road to apiti, then do the Apiti to Kimbolton lots of twisties

You will have to refuel at Ashurst and I am sure some of the manwatu crowd will meet you at ashurst and ride for some of the trip if not all of the trip...

And No doult Yod will wanto to show off his new bike too but I am keen too catch up with you guys
