Either strap it to the front guard or I usually put mine in my camelback.

I've seen them lying on top of the front guard up by the number plate. when I bought my younger sons KX85 there was one standing upright on the front guard with cable ties around & through the number plate. Looked quite tidy.

I had to carry one for desert storm, had it behind my number board, fell off down a bank and busted the top off it, and foamy crap went everywhere,
i now carry mine on my camel back ( have a large mesh pocket on the side)
but alot of people cable tie the bracket to the front gaurd and just clip in the extintuisher

Good point Speedy. I've never been on a ride you had to have one. The one that was there would have pulled off not to bad and I took it off as soon as we got the bike. But I see what you mean. Maybe bolt the bracket to the top of the guard. Basically like in the pic but lying down then you number would be ok as well.

Where are you going that you need an extinquisher B000M

Seen them cable tied to the back of body armor or camel backs, also duct taped onto front or rear guard, don't drill holes in your bike !!! Tape is easy to rip off. It can still be used if you take you armor/camel back off and spray while it's still attached.

Might just throw it in my camel back then.

My aim is to finish the race. Sam and I went and splashed out on some new tyres and Sam went for a Metzler on the rear and I went for a Michelin S12. Both went for the Michelin (don't know the number) front. It will be interesting to see how they both wear.

It should be a good ride. There has been a bit of rain and there is more forecast so it could get quite boggy and the river crossings are going to be some fun. I must remember to take my thermals!!! Glad we are staying at the Hot springs, I think that the hot pools will needed afterwards!!!!!!!

i would not reccomend carring them on your back, my business partner had one on his back and got thrown over the bars onto his back, big pain as it happened at speed, nice big bruise formm the hard metal object strapped to his back,

ever since then we put it them on the front guard with cable ties, we drill our guards and do that, heaps safer

I completely agree with this. I crashed back in Rpril with a small sheath knife in my back pack (flat against my back thank god) and had a bruise on my back for almost a month.

    Cheers R
