I'm another keen newbie. I live in Pukekohe and work shift work so my availability is random. I can't bring myself to read back through the past 134 pages so I'll just keep an eye out from now for new details

Did he say WETTER? man he has no idea, the last time we rode in the wet it poured for 2 hour solid, that was last 2 months ago.Hard horizontal Cold ( did I mention cold?) rain.
It was still a good ride and we had something like 6 riders that night, die hards all of em.
So don't worry about the rain.C Ewe on the 21st then.

I'm not worried about rain, I'm a farm boy at heart, spent plenty of time out in the cold / wet / etc.

Something else might stop me being there but rain won't.

Usually 2 - 8 or so and the speed is entirely up to the individual riders, theres no pressure to go fast or slow , the front runners wait at specific points until all have arrived before going further, works really well.
