OK, here goes...... I am 52 and feeling it... I raced lots on and off road, I have the permanent reminders of most of the crashes, I'm probably not too different to your Dad... It would have been a mistake for me to get the KX125 before a trail bike. Old guys need soft front ends, and compliant rears (must be a joke in there somewhere

) The MX'er is fine somewhere like Ardmore or Harrisville where the track is predictable, relatively smooth and the sessions mercifully short, but when you're trying to ride all day with you fast, "I'll never crash" youngsters, the poor old shoulders, (both been dislocated) knees (both been rebuilt) and (strangely never been injured) tired old back require a “limo” not “GTR” type ride. The soft ride of the KDX is exactly what makes it suitable for 50th pressies. I hope you all get old enough to fully appreciate just how timeless it’s become as a “trailbike” Now back to servicing the KX for Harrisville on Saturday and Wildman Sunday…The Zimmer frame can wait, damn it…….
