As long as you bike looks smart and tidy, no one will bother you. If parking wardens have some issue with it, just write in and bullshit them with some story and ignore them.. let them crash and bang around in the legal system by themselves for a few months and use up all their spare change fighting a non-fight. shrug.

You should be mounting it to the side of your rear fender. Real easy to see.

Council jobworths however are not....
Put wof and reg Anywhere on your bike where it is visible....
or don't park in public places....

i put mine in the rear storage area had it behind the plate but by the time the 2smoker is up to temp to ride the wof and reg are unreadable

Yea then again the world might end tommorow eh,38 years riding and approx the same number of bikes the regos always been under the seat or passenger hump,in that time ive been pulled over for sure,when asked to show them the rego ive obliged and as i said never a problem.Put it on the other side of your plate if you must but generally it will end up fucked from the shit thrown of your rear wheel.

thanks guys! seems the general idea is that the cop was right, ill just take it of, turn it round and screw it back to the underside of the plate, just wanted to check, new to road bikes, and i know the cops dont like being able to see the reg on your cage

edit: no room under my seat, thats where i keep my L plate

Mine is just below the steering head on the down-tubes - can be seen from the front (not easily either) and not the rear, never had any problems.

Bike shop cpuldn't find anywhere to fix it thus it's been in the "glovebox" ever since. They said it's not likely to be a problem and hasn't been to date.As Nighthawk says they generally know more about your bike than you do based on the rego plate. Big brother is watching!

Parking wardens can ticket a vehicle, car or bike, for failing to disply a wof or reg, if they can not easily see or read the sticker...... If your not there to lift your seat and show em, they might issue a ticket....

mate of mine got a $400 dollar ticker form some f**king dropkick parking warden cos he had both wof an rego under the seat, took the seat into the council building (or wherever u sposed to go to pay these things) and they let him off.

I don't see the point in having to display the WOF or rego, all it takes is a QVR and then the constabulary will know if it's legal or not.

My rego and wof on the Harley are mounted by the horn. To date its never been a problem even parking in Dunedin. On the GN250 they are both mounted to brackets on the licence plate (afterall, its a GN so it don't matter).

Best advice is talk to your local council and find out in writing where they want it mounted and keep a copy of that under your seat. that way you've got an excuse if the cops or wardens don't agree.
