So sorry to hear of your loss Trace. It is a shame that the station footage did not at least pick up a suspicious vehicle moving toward your bike. A big station the one at Westgate.....surprised no one saw anything.
Just for info I recently purchased a Caberg flip front helmet and it is awesome. 5 star rating, retractable tinted visor and nice and light. Cost me $425 which is good considering the quality and features. The dealer lives in Glen Eden and is very obliging. If you would like to view them PM me (with your email as I have too few posts to PM yet) and I can provide you with his contact details.

I always take my helmet in with me while I pay.

If you must leave your helmet with the bike for some reason, you're best not to leave it on the seat! It's too easy for someone to bump it off and a drop from the seat onto concrete could be enough to 'write off' your helmet.

You're much better to put your helmet on the ground tucked in close to the bike. If you're worried about it getting dirty, put your gloves on the ground first and your helmet on top.

Thanks for offer, but Ill get my old helmet up from the naki, although its a little big, it will do. And I wouldn't even be able to say which size my helmet was... never thought to take note, so will have to have some fun trying on helmets again. Any suggestions of great helmets out there?

get a bandana or thin beanie to wear underneath. helps to fill the gap just that little bit more.

Ive been searching TradeMe... any other sites I should be checking? No luck so far, but I don't expect it to be up this quick, and thats if they are even gonna sell them online.

I wouldn't say that they would be sold on Tardme in my opinion. Unless they are dumb, then again they are dumb enough to steal so who knows.

T&E isn't a bad idea but from experience (everyone knows one dodgy person aye) most things would go to someone they know, meet at the pub, workmate etc etc.

Still a pain in the arse. But if it is any consolation, although i'm sure it's not i am not the first person in this thread to say i have learnt from your unfortunate incident (i won't call it a mistake because it's really not your fault) and won't be taking any chances. Even with my shitty gear

Still hope you get it back and we can have a lynch mob of KB'ers sent round
