ahh i see some pics of supertanker two....That pic on the beach is just as i was deciding that rear tyre traction may not be sufficent to keep forward motion.

You hold ya arm out and I'll drag an electric sander across it at 80kph just to give you an idea of how much it wouldn't hurt if ya like!!!!!

Provided the weather holds up (looks ok) I'm going up Odlins Rd today (midday ish) provided I can find someone to go with

It will be slippery as shit - decent tires only I suspect - I'll be on the knobby equipped DT230

If anyone knows Freds cellphone can they pm me

    cheers

Nah, it's simple really. Over about 70, you're actualy going fast enough to get above the sand. You just skim across the surface and don't sink in. The secret is to sit right back on the seat, and hold the bars real lightly. The front waves all over the place, so it's all about managing the tank slap.

    Great fun.

It's tempting Mark, but I might find something a bit closer to home. Don't really fancy spending all day in the car towing my bike. The tyres I have on would melt if I tried to ride down.

I will also have to give Odlins a miss today. Last night I was fitting a smaller countershaft sprocket for the Cnut Hill expedition. Instead of a c/shaft nut it uses a internally splined retainer (washer) that slips over the shaft to a groove on the shaft, then rotated half a spline and bolted to sprocket. The retainer is worn & suspect. Fingers crossed I can get a replacement before the SI invasion.

    Same on the DR's.
Quite a few use e-clips instead with no issues.
