I don't think he is just talking about ed and sloan...he is completly right in saying their will be a large amount of currently built bikes out thier that will effectivly be not eligible. 'IF' these rules...as 'WE' are intuperating them come into force...these bikes are the cheapest way for alot of aspiring national level riders to get a well equiped machine on the grid...

I suppose it depends on where you set your goals really (if its simply track time at club racing level) then sure it might be a valid arguemnt - but the smile / fear factor of a well sorted superbike makes up for a hell of a lot and is a true test of skills.
Superbike in reality has bever been traditionally nor is ever likely to be "the biggest class" numbers wise in NZ, - it IS however the premier class.
To be blunt - riding a superbike at anywhere near to its limits - I would be quite happy to do one class a day........ - but maybe this is because i am tired and old :-). The sheer amount of track days & test days available to us all - still give plenty of saddle time on your toy if thats your desire.
I hear what you are saying spuddly - & youve got a cool bike there to do some skids on, but i am not sure that the amount of races that one is able to fit into a day is the reason for the small fields.
    I wonder what is ...............Hmmm

Mate, I for one would be happy to pay to see you on a competitive Superbike, get the cheque book out fella! Note: I didn't say I'd pay much, ok?

Fair comments....apart from the "tired and old" bit, young fullah!

Thanks for the warning mate. After 3 weeks offshore some of the blokes tend to get a bit toey and I'd rather not risk having someone hump my leg like an 80kg Jack Russell.

Took your advice and hardened the fuck up mate. Worked well too, had a good twenty minute chat with Paul S yesterday.

He thanked me for my constructive ideas and confirmed the rules were back to the way they orginally were.

So Drew, Neil Martin, David Lees, Sloan, Eddy, Richard Prowse, Rhys Holmes, Robbie B, Andrew S, and others you can all race again next summer.

    You're welcome.

Thanks for you constructive advice Curious, sorry things didn't go your way See ya next weekend.

So what are you saying Jimmy, no more privateers type championship on lower spec bikes? Or just that the ol' 2008 hot rods (and earlier) are still eligible to compete alongside the new formula(s)?

Privateers CUp is officially to be known as Open Stock Production mate, and everyone I've spoken to is in massive support of it.

I think the rules need a little fine tuning and will be presenting some good feedback to MNZ, but yup, it looks to be staying. Mint as!

Mr Stewart has been emailing and calling the office for over a week instructing them to change the website in regards to the Superbike rules but to no avail. Wouldn't suprise me if the 600s were exactly the same mate.

Flick an email to Paul Stewart, better still, attend the Road race workshop at the AGM in two weeks time in Wellington and make your opinion heard.
