Which shops are doing good deals on tyres at the moment?

The websites iv'e checked are'nt showing many deals as such just standard pricing......

So have you seen a good deal out there which you would'nt mind sharing with me? (like on the blackboard at cycletreads etc)

Anywhere from Tauranga/Aucks as im in Tauranga at the mo., heading home soon, happy to stop into Hamilhole.

Also if you ride/used to ride a 900 Hornet and found a particular tyre which worked well with it i'm all ears.

    Cheers.

Fix a computer and it'll break tomorrow.
Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

The Hornet has the same tyre sizes as the Blackbird, but only 194kg as opposed to the 'birds 227 kg. After a fair bit of experimentation, I've found the Avon Storms best overall for the bird but I recently trialled the soft compound Avon Viper ST on the front for the importer. That's a fantastic tyre but the life is fairly short on the 'bird. That wouldn't be the case so much with with a Hornet as it won't push the front so much. My in-depth evaluation is here:http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=96683.

Guess it depends on the sort of riding you do and the tyre life you want.

    Good luck!

Was going to put some up soon, What had you done?

Iv'e done the flapper mod, headlight and indicator change......(ascerbis cyclops headlight which I think looks freakin awesome and micro LEDs) I was weighing up the twin fronts and went with the cyclops in the end and stoked with it, pretty decent light from it too.

I'm guessing you did the pipes? And the bars?

tyres are road attack front, conti motion rear. Not a fan of the motion.

Road attacks are pretty good, I just want to try something different, as I had them on my last bike, and want to a comparison, maybe with some pirellis avons/michs/metz etc.

I've had some issue finding anyone who has a tire to fit the front of the 250 hornet down here, due to its retarded size, I've had to call cycle treads in auckland and they are sending me down Battleaxe 259 incl shipping. As soon as I can im going to start looking for a 17" rim and rotor off the 900 and convert it, better selection CHEAPER selection and hopefully better handling.

The guys at cycle treads were AWESOME to deal with and i'd quite happily deal with them again, talked me through the quality and pros and cons of endless brands.

Drury Performance Centre has sharp prices all the time (unless you're jafar...). No need to go anywhere else.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
