Andy - were you planning to take the TA right up cnut hill?

I've just crawled out of my sick bed this afternoon.

Nordie/Bart thanks for the heads up about e clips. Did a trial run and it was relatively easy to install with vice grips. And jesus they are springloaded and uncontrollable when you know it off the shaft. However the shaft groove is about 6mm wide - is it good practice to install 2 e clips side by side to take up the slack?
A google search found someone using RTV silicon to stick it to the socket to keep the e clip inplace. Also RTV on chain link clips has anyone tried this?

Underground thanks I will take you up on your offer until I get a new clip & sprocets. Will send PM.

Marks my intention was to just photograph yours & Barts attempts on the top section of Cnut hill. Of course if you had easily traversed it without smashing your bikes and i was the lonely guy at the bottom i might have attempted it

I could really see you just standing around and watching/recording the carnage - NOT

It would be very emotionally damaging to be stuck halfway up cnut hill on a light knobby equipped DT and have a heavy T/A idle past.

Apparently there is a ride round Cape Palliser lighthouse this weekend. Possibly being organised thought the bmw club but I'm not sure.

Would like to go round there, I think it would be fairly cruisy but would be scenic I think. Dunno how access is gained.

D'uh, just realised I'm having a blonde moment. I was thinking of the lighthouse out by eastbourne.

I think last weekend addled my brain.

It just occurred to me we have nothing planned for June!

Since several of us are skint/unemployed, & several have quite full-on job/financial commitments at the mo; do you guys fancy just using June weekends for a few day rides? Have a bit of a break from the long weekends away this month? It would also give the guys who can't get away for long weekends at the mo some opportunities to get all back together for some rides; Howie springs to mind for example!

(Then there's always the Mid Winter Madness Ride Clint is organisin for late July to get the next big long weekend away fix in!)

I still haven't been out to Castlepoint & i also reccied the gravel road out to Flat Point Rd/Glenburn Rd. There's Glendhu Rocks too.

    Thoughts guys please!
    Cheers, Dave

    good thoughts young skywalker

I'm keen to do the mmmm and will need new tires and front brake pads before that so local rides will suit me fine during June early July. I also need to build up the brownie point store a bit....

I don't think Andy would be to pleased if we did anything too exciting while he cant join in - although perhaps his bike is in perfect condition to have a go at cnut hill?

And you had also mentioned over at Adv that you wanted to get the KLR back into Odlins at some point & I'd like to try the DR in there with good shape D606's on!

I can do Saturdays no problem as things stand at the mo, Sundays would take a bit more child care arranging.
    Cheers, Dave

Hey the T/A is lighter now, he should be able to scoot straight up Cnut Hill!

    (or drive off the edge!)
