    BMW S1000RR front view

    BMW say :

"The Split Face, a black, grained surface on the upper section of the fairing around the headlights, divides the upper section of the fairing, as seen from the front, into two “halves of a face”, thus ensuring both excitement and a truly unique look.
In its design and size, the main headlight takes up the typical look of the starter numbers on an endurance racing machine, while for constructional reasons alone the high-beam headlight is much smaller. Apart from this asymmetry creating both excitement and dynamism, the Split Face serves to subdivide the large painted surface in visual terms, giving the upper section of the fairing an even lighter and more sporting look."

    er....right with you there Fritz

Same here, not too sure on the headlights aye. i think the design team had two different ideas and came to a compromise...

Come on BMW! choose one or the other, not the bastard son of both!

Now if you hop into paint and mirror the images, either option look nicer than one of each.

Once again BMW prove their "designers" think socks, sandals, and a nice cardy make for a snappy outfit. Just 'cos something is different doesn't make it good.

The propeller heads crow about competing on equal terms with other Superbikes, class leading power and weight blah blahdy blah blah and then undo all the good work with a simple set of headlights. The cunts just frustrate the fuck outta me, they make what should be great bikes and just insist on beating them senseless with an ugly stick.

Cardigan wearers rejoice, you now have a sports bike built especially for you......and you're welcome to it.

I disagree. If you run with symmetry it looks very 'bug' like which seems to be a common trend with sportsbikes theses days. By going for 'one of each' it looks more like a cyborg, which actually runs along the lines of other BMW road bikes in the last few years. I think it looks awesome, and stands out from the crowd.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

+1 to that, it looks really cool, and you certainly arn't going to mistake it for anything else if it is riding towards you.

    Yes it does look good...

But the marketing bullshit "The Split Face, a black, grained surface on the upper section of the fairing around the headlights, divides the upper section of the fairing, as seen from the front, into two “halves of a face”, thus ensuring both excitement" that goes along with it is a complete waste of space.

I do wonder what they are smoking in some of those advertising units....

The 'face' looks retarded, and has the mouth above the eyes, one of which is seriously mental.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
