Looks like a well looked after bike. The KX125's are awesome, love them. Better than those crappy Gas Gas 125's anyway....

Hope you get what you are looking for, I would want around 3k for my 99 KX125, although I have fully rebuilt my engine including new barrel, crank and clutch hub, new plastics all over and new graphics so she owes me a bit. Think I will keep her for years to come and save up for a 250 as well....

PS. Hope the missus doesn't read this post, she may have a different view...

    Good luck mate.

Ah that's cool mate, might drag him round when its a bit drier and have a look at it. Thinking could be better off having him start off on a 4T 250 due to being easier to learn on but we'll see.

sweet as, yeah ive tried teaching a few of my mates on it aye.. no one seems to get the concept of raping it to get it going fast.. just complain about it having no power. This was my 2nd bike, after a crappy as chinese 4 stroke.. never going back in that direction hahah!

nah the only thing a 4 stroke is gonna teach him is how to ride lazily

It's all very well saying this but... if they are trying and trying and just don't get it they're not gonna bother riding at all right?!? Most of us have had some sort of time to learn on smaller bikes and most of us learnt to ride on crappy old bikes that were probably easier to ride than a motocross bread 125cc 2T.

I learnt on a lil scooter, then on to an old XR100 when i was a kid. Didn't ride for about 13yrs then got on to a late model CRF250, 12 months on that then on to a CR250 which i'm learning to ride reasonably well now. No harm done starting on something a bit easier if you ask me.

125s arnt THAT hard to ride... you either love them or hate them i guess. I do know that starting on a 125 [or any smaller 2 stroke] will teach throttle and clutch control, and the rider will get faster, quicker. Wether he wants that, or just to plod along on trails i dont know, but in that case maybe a kdx [dont start up that kdx bullshit] or drz or something may be better?

haha, nah ill just get a shorter bike!
umm I've got no idea aye! tryn to sort a trade with someone with a 2004 sx250, but dunno if they will go for it. I like the look of the hondas, alloy frame and everything looks good. Any recomendations? I'll hopefully have about 4.5 to spend, but i dont wanna go to long with out a bike!

well of course id have to say yz! ahaha. i love mine, even my mate with a 07 kx250 reckons its better. not to say the kx is a bad bike, iv never really felt comfotable on it though, bui i guess i could get used to it and its crazy vibrating.

hondas are cool, but i couldnt be fucked with having to run 98 gas in them and still run the possibility of them detonating.

based on my reasearch and preference and a little brand loyalty my preferered list in order was

    1. 05+ yz250 [because they are the supposed best and smoothest 250 2t]
    2. 07+ 250sx [because they look cool, and the later ones are supposed to be pretty good]
    3. 05+ cr250 [because i love hondas, they are suposed to be crap stock though and detonate and have jetting problems (waiting for all the kb cr250 riders to add their 2c here)]
    4. 07+ kx250 [ridden one many times, vibrated like fuck and just never felt right, hated to jump it, front wheel would always go towards the moon, big mid range hit and fuck all anywhere else]
    5. any rm250 [I hate yellow and no-one makes aftermarket standard sized tanks ahaha, not the nicest looking bike either, but are aparantly pretty good - yellow was not an option though lol]
