Got stopped twice tonight - this is why it's a good thing...

Caught up tonight with some fun friends. I got stopped on the way there, and got stopped on the drive home (yes, I'm soft, I was in the cage - hate riding on Saturday night with all the drunkards on the roads).

Got stopped for a WoF check - but they were searching cars on the side of the road. Hopefully they caught some buglars or dealers...

Got stopped for a breath check just up from my house. Hopefully the drunkards and boy racers will give this area a miss for a while. Hopefully they caught some drunk drivers, and right now they're attaching electrodes to their balls.

I'm stoked because it seems like all that tax I pay is actually going into something tangible and visible.

Two thumbs up to the boys in blue tonight.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

I was very pleased to see the whole city and north shore blocked off most nights this week to check for drunken breath...and they had quite a few pulled over.

Yep it is good to see them out there keeping our roads safe. The missus got stopped Thursday arvo and I got stopped Thursday night for breath testing.

When you read about drivers like that woman in Rotovegas with 8 drink driving convictions and 15 driving while disqualified, never had a licence and banned from ever holding one, I am glad someone is checking the qbilities of other road users when I am out there.
Cheers to the thin blue line and RIP Len Snee.

I am so not hairy, mister! Maybe the guy just wanted to see my fantastic, curly locks.
And, now that my chin doesn't have bumfluff on it, you can really feel the cold!

It's not just at night. There have been day time (11am) breath test stop points (with no exceptions) around the Albany area. When I say no exceptions I would have thought that stopping a motorcycle postie twice within an hour was a bit excessive.

Reminds me when they did the blitz in Napier a while ago. They had an intersection on the hill where they had cops on all four stops. I had to drop some people home and within about 30 minutes I had been through the intersection three times being breathalised each time.

Some twats threw a bottle out in front of me on Quay St. The bottle bounced off another car and landed in the GSXR's path. Luckily I dodged around it, and spotted a drunk driving checkpoint in the distance. Went up, stopped, told the 5-0 what had transpired, and the officer ran off to try to do something about it. But by then the tools that threw the bottle got away scott free as another officer must have breath tested the driver and waved him on.
