    Question Triumph Daytona 600

    Hey guys,

As some of you may know I'm looking to step up from the 250.

Have my eye on a few bikes, but one that stands out is the Daytona 600

Always have had a hard on for it since highschool when it came out.

Is it worth getting one compared to a Jappa?

My main issue is spare parts (price and availability) seeing as they only made the bike for a few years and as it's a Triumph.

    What's you input?

    Cheers

Lots of people will tell you not to waste your time compared to a Japanese 600. They certainly arn't as fast, or handle as well...But if its what you want, it will be great for you. And if the price is right...

lol trust me, I won't be racing etc.

Just Triumph's attempt to take on the jappas with an inline 4 of their own. Plan failed, so they made a kick arse 675 3 inline instead!

The Daytona 600 and 650 are ok I hear, the TT600 is a bomb, well 2003 model was ok but the damage had been done to the rep by then.

The Daytona 600/650 has got to be one of the best looking bikes ever!

might not be the best 'under the hood' but the looks are to die for

The TT600 certainly wasn't a bomb, it even won the IOM. It was known however for shitty fueling. Otherwise a fantastic handling bike, likewise the Speed Four which came from the TT600 except with the fueling fixed.

The Daytona 600 is supposed to be a good handling bike, it was a little weak on the power compared to the jappers, which is why they bumped it up to the 650.

I've never waited more than a week for a Triumph part, all I can do is laugh when someone with a jap bike mentiones a 6 week wait!
Parts prices entirely acceptable too. You'll get the shaft for Triumph Accessories though!
