No. There is more preparation to do and we couldn't do this track after not advertising... people booked and paid for a trackday, advertised as track 1, might not like that

We'll be using it on the 20th of June.

Looking forward to the change ! But could ya have a word to the weather gods for friday mate ? Looking dodgy, as to whether we'll even get through the desert fri morn !
If my bloody rear tyre had arrived today like it was spose to, i might have thought about a detour through napier morra (and a stop at the dyno in napier while im at it)
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Ooooh I'm lovin those flip flops again already! Only problem I can see from the vid is the braking point for the first chicane on the back straight looks to be right on that big bump.

I'm gonna be "devil's advocate" here and ask: why?

A motard rider goes and spends a wallop of cash on a bike he/she knows is limited in the high speed stakes, but this rider is prepared to sacrifice the top end thrills for the mid-range punch & fun they offer in the twisties. Fair enough. If I had the cash I'd have one too. Surely they also realise their top speed deficit will be most evident along a back straight.

I, on the other hand, choose twisty fun and high speed, I spend my wallop of cash on the bestest bike ever made, find a track to have my fun, and it gets turned into a big infield. It seems the quick bikes/riders are being penalised.

I know there are other trackday outfits, (but I personally enjoy the camaraderie at the motoTT days), and I know there are going to be two configurations motoTT will be offering; I just want to make sure motoTT know why a few of us sportsbike riders are a bit puzzled.

Totally agree there... It may be more fun for some (not as if it they weren't having fun already) but it makes the event potentially worse for others. I happen to like the high speed corners and the straights on T1... Hopefully a choice will continue to be given.

On another point - KiwiFruit - nice vid and nice ride - thanks. What gears are you using there ? Is that bike on standard gearing ? Also, are the entry and exits of the new sections smooth or bumpy ?

    That looks FUCKING AWESOME

I was worried about losing T8 as that's my thrill corner. But watching the vid it looks like Track 5 makes a really cool technical entry for the new T9.

Sure you lose the chance to hit a new top speed and your brakes don't get to cool down but I think on balance it adds more than it takes away if it's alternated with Track 1.

My only observation would be that I suspect there will be more passing on the inside into T9 because you now don't have as long to be sure you can make an outside pass stick around 8 before you brake for 9.

I know it shouldn't really be worse than T6/7 but I'm used to using T8 to make a lot of passes so will have to work hard to remember.
