I've never waited more than a week for a Triumph part, all I can do is laugh when someone with a jap bike mentiones a 6 week wait!
Parts prices entirely acceptable too. You'll get the shaft for Triumph Accessories though!
Yea, the TT600 didn't bomb, just got a really bad rep.

I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, Triumph had the balls to release the 1st 600cc sports bike with fuel injection. They missed the mark with the fueling issues, got it sorted in the end & the looks were a bit dated.

It's pretty much the same frame, engine and brakes in the Daytona 600.

Yea, my old man has brought chrome goodies for his 2007 America lol, costs a packet!

Thanks for that Devil, that's the info I was after

Agree. Indy, PM Kiwifruit about his impressions of riding my Speed Four. The chassis is essentially the same as a D600/650. Mine has Ohlins front and rear (Robert Taylor can make an Ohlins for a K6 fit) and street bars but the handling was pretty good prior to the conversion. Agreed the power is not up to comparable Japanese bikes of the day but realistically it's about rideability and on the road you would not be left behind on a D600/650.

My 03 TT600 is awsome and looks good all blacked out, I couldn't care less about the older models reputation mine is sweet and has given me no troubles what so ever

I took it for a test ride and fell in love with it. Is fast enough can do 250kms no worries, it has a real comfortable seating position for me, not like the aggressive race position of most Jap 600s. I can easily take it for a long distance ride and feel comfortable on it the whole time.

But each to there own. I say go test ride as many bikes as you can until you find one that suits you, your style and your bank balance

More info: I have holeshots D600 with me at the moment (loaner). It has 39k on it, gearbox is sweet and slick (slicker than my old speed four) the engine sounds in good nick (i sold my speed four - same engine - at 70,000km and it was sweet with a long long life ahead of it). The riding position is nice, I haven't ridden one before.
Nicely shaped tank that you can grip onto perfectly. Seat is acceptable and reach to bars is quite comfy.

This particular one has had the exhaust cored I think and sounds absolutely fantastic.
Fuelling is better than my speed four was. Nice and smooth.

However, this particular example has shit tyres and the suspension is badly set up so do not use this one as a base for the handling!
Hand on my heart, I could tell you now that you would have no problems with the handling once new tyres were on there and had knobs tweaked (fully adjustable susp).
It's a bargain and i'd buy it if I were you.

Have my eye on a few bikes, but one that stands out is the Daytona 600

Always have had a hard on for it since highschool when it came out.

Is it worth getting one compared to a Jappa?

My main issue is spare parts (price and availability) seeing as they only made the bike for a few years and as it's a Triumph.

    What's you input?

    Cheers

It will be hugely better than anything you've owned. Once you've had it for a year you will be well equipped to know what you like in a "big" bike and will be able to make value judgements about relative performance.

Until then, you can just revel in a new level of performance and a stand out brand name.

The TT600 I had went bloody well. Fast, light, and handled well.
It was a bit doggy under 4000 due to the famous fuelling prob, but it has never had any remaps done to it.
I sold it to the stepson and at 20000kms now still goes well.
I still have a near new Jardine alloy muffler for it in the shed.

    Put it on!
I had the Jardine on my Speed Four and it sounded absolutely fantastic. My favourite 4cyl noise.

I did have it on when I owned it but it killed the top end. Was noticably flat. So I guess it will need a remap if fitted again.
The boy is talking about using it, but so far its still stock.

The only thing that has gone wrong is the throttle cable broke recently, signs of water corosion in there.
That took 3 weeks for one to get.
But any other Triumph stuff I've needed for all other's I have or own have been getable in a day or not much more.

I wouldn't say no to a TT600 if someone gave me one! But I guess I'd have the D600/650 over a TT600 given the choice.

Will have to ride a TT600 one day!

    Good point there.

And I'm not ashamed to admit I'm playing favourites here.....nothing to do with being British I guess....

Years of spending far too much money at that shop. Dropped off the UZ125 to get serviced, get a Daytona as a loaner

Dooly: Thats a bit weird, dynoing showed the jardine was a really good free flow exhaust. Remap would sort it. Had PCIII in mine anyway so was mint after it was tuned.

Yep, a bit strange but prob not considering the fuelling on them.

Without the Jardine & with stock muffler I saw (on speedo) 255 down a straight.
Same straight, same area etc etc, but with Jardine, would'nt pull past 237. And felt it too.
