Don't forget that a registered dealer is required to give you a minimum of a 3 month warranty. You can also purchase an after market warranty (from companies like Autosure) if you are really worried.

But is only a year old. 28000 doesn't seem that much to me. Go for it!

    the mileage isn't the problem

the problem is what price you are paying for the bike, if the mileage is factored into the price and you like the bike then go for it

but if the price doesn't reflect the mileage then walk away, as when you go to sell the bike later on you will get stung

Shouldn't the mileage show that the rider has probably done a lot of long-haul trips? And isn't it much better to do a lot of long rides than a lot of stop-start riding where the oil barely gets warm??

the place im buying it off is a triumph dealer, they origionally sold the bike to some chick, she traded it in on the r model, they have done all the services on it too and can vouch for it. wont have the cash till wednesday next week so if its there then im definately buying it!

I would be more concerned about a bike with only a few thousand kms. Especially if mostly done commuting. Also be concerned when a seller proudly declares they have never rev'd it over 6000revs. It probably has glazed bores, will never perform well and will burn oil. Most times I start the engine it runs for at least 200kms - benefit of not commuting.
    Here for the ride.

Find out who the chick is. She could be a role model for KBs to aspire to.
    Here for the ride.

I'll put my name to it and I'm a fussy prick...I not only sold the bike to her but know its FULL history that I'd be happy to print out for you. I'd even intro you to the lady if that would put you at ease.

    BTW...I'm not on commission

If it's an 08 it should still have some factory warranty on it...

Sold my Triumph with 70,000km on it, was purring like a kitten.
