Can someone lend me a <250cc bike in Christchurch for my full test next Tues.

    Hi
Just as the topic states, my FXR is giving me strife at the moment (electrickery problems), so would prefer to do it on a bike that is known to be running well. It would need to have me put on the insurance for obvious reasons, and I'm sure we can come to an arrangement for reimbursement. I can pick up anywhere in Christchurch within reason. PM me if wanted regarding it.

It's $70 last time I checked. You will also need a deposit of $500 OR a vehicle e.g. car.

    Easy.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Ok, I might do that then. Much easier than borrowing someones bike.
    Cheers for that info.

Also Street and Sport, and Trevor Pearce have/had bikes for hire to get your licence on as well.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Ok, I'll look into that in probably tomorrow, but its looking like it wont be necessary any more (got a new stator on the way).

It is always good to have lots of options.

And best of luck or if you prefer, have a good clean ride.

As tempting as it is, don't think you can do the test on dealer plates.

It sure is, so far I have 2 backup options not counting hiring a bike. 1, ride it as it (discharging the battery at a rate of .8A at idle, so not ideal, but will idle for at least an hour before its a problem, and it is breaking even at about 2000rpm, so as long as I am moving it is not a problem). 2, do the test with one headlight out (legal, safe, and the bike will be charging at idle which is good). So I have no shortage of options, and as I am wanting to make this the last time I have to think about the bike full license (been booked in twice before), I am going to be choosing carefully. Now its just a matter of keeping my nerve on the day.

And I think a Keeway for Street and Sport.

Would pay to ring them both.

Had my test yesterday, and passed it. Just ended up adjusting the idle on my bike, so it was always charging (stator problems). So good to have it finally done, and can now ride my big(er) bike (9 months after purchasing it).
