Burn the heathens!
Then nick their bikes...
I still like Orange but am not sure if I could handle the power drop
Actually I would have bought one, but for the fact that im chasing lap times at Taupo and that my DR800 buddies would string me up, what was the motivation for your purchase ( ps, checked your profile, nice bike )
This is to tease you Mick, the bike that lost out to the Tuono

Thanks, it had 7km on the clock from new at the time. I had a Blackbird that kept threatening to run off with my license in its beak. The Tuono is... slower. This might sound a bit strange, as with the stock gearing 6000rpm in top is an indicated 195km/h (just running her in, officer), but it has so little wind protection that a 6 footer like me is buffeted to sh** at over 130km/h. And the 'prillia is just a bit nicer than owning the equivalent Japper.
I had thought of buying a second Transalp ('mine' is actually my wife's) because the first one is so good, or a Tiger or summat, but, like you I couldn't bear the power drop. It is nice to have the oomph there when you need it, although at the pace I ride, the Transalp has more predictable handling and is more comfortable. That turned into a bit of an essay, didn't it.
To everyone else, sorry for the major thread drift. Now, where were we...

I reckon we oughta be grateful , we can ride bikes that are just so much better than the things I grew up on.
Just get on gas hard whatever you are riding !!
I dont think so, all true so far
Hows it going Mick, what you been doing ,
you can come and say giday her so as not to wreck this thread if you like http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...34&postcount=1
O while your there since your a man off the cloth, a friend of mine has a confession to make and needs help , he was riding along the motor way minding his own bussiness when a Maloo ute edges in front of him in other lane ( probable to check what all the noise was about ) so my said friend chops it down till the tacho shows about 6500 and grabs the throttle several nanno seconds latter he then lunges forward front wheel aloft with said grin inside his helmet, how can we help my friend ??

You can see what Ive been up to then I quess
Just make sure all car drivers are put firmly in their place , wheelies seem to keep them humble ......... Howd the Tuono go on knobblies ?
Not Good, would rip them off, have been on metal with 180 pilots though and was ok, just gas it to steer, riding position gives resonable control though suspension is a bit short, after all some nutter did a round the world on an R1, Tuono is virtually a motorcrosser by comparo;
Having said that I expect to replace my DR at some stage with a 950/990 and us Tuono for track
Hope all is well with you and familly
