Taupo has plenty of the latter in fact it could be said to be the best on offer, but very little of the former.
Is there not another method that you can split the capacity inequality? medium group 600+, medium group 599 -, standard group 1 and 4.
You just keep your high speeds where they belong aye lol 220 on an R1 on the back straight, seriously ?

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

'random & cheshire, i disagree with your comments & emoticons, respectively.

I and others on this thread happen to agree with J-rod. Plenty more have rep pm'd me in agreement & in support of my opinions.

JR, your repeated comments about 'taking it to the strip' are not relevant to this thread. You're directing that at people who have expressely included how much enjoyment they get out of a fun, tight, twisty & technical infield, as opposed to people who just want to hit warp speed in 9.89872330422 secs.
Incidentally, I specifically mentioned this in my posts purposefully to avoid blind comments like these.
"oh, you're all about top speed" "oh, you don't like corners"

Cods wollop. Bollocks to that. Go re-read our posts.

All he's saying (and all I'm saying) is that at the moment it's a track which offers a great combination of tight stuff, sweepy stuff & quick stuff, so why alter it?

The reason it's changing ( and do lets remember & keep this in perspective, it's not a permanent change!) is to do with safety.
It may not be the right approach, it may not be the best, or in fact it may turn out to be just what was needed...who knows?

I have safety concerns of my own re the new proposed layout; however, I'm not an organiser, am not involved with motoTT, and I feel this is not the place to express 'em.

Personally, I ride a bike on track for the high speed, g-forces & lean angles the experience offers, among the many other intangibles!
For me it's about testing all my limits, whether they be braking deeper & deeper (or not, and carrying more corner speed), getting 'er cranked reeeet over, muscling out of the bend-i-just-conquered (yeah right), cutting my way through the next one & eventually reaching my top speed.

What's not to like about that?
