Someone explain this wizard nonsense to a yank

    http://www.3news.co.nz/Wizard-of-New...5/Default.aspx

Is this for real? Is this person widely known? Or is this one of those obscure government offices that nobody knows/cares about?

How hard is it to get a Queen Service Medal. It looks like lots of footballers and what not get them. I'm assuming it's not incredibly prestigious. Same goes for the official wizard posting.

This article confused me to no end. Then again... I am a product of the American school system. So many things confuse me.

The Wizard is a Legend, or at least would be if he was an official person.

You need a sense of humour and an appreciation for the weird and wonderful to grok the Wizard.

Given that merkins can't even spell "humour", and the Wizard doesn't do slapstick, I rather suspect there will always be a cultural gap in understanding.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Um. He is the Official Wizard of New Zealand. Proclaimed in parliament and all. Best not to get on his wrong side. Have you ever considered life as a frog? Or a newt?

Apart from wizarding, the main way to get a Queens Service Medal is to service a queen. In other words, they're mainly homos.

The wizard on this side of the tasman isn't very well recognised overseas.

Perhaps you've heard of the wizard of Oz'?

What was the name of his Army he had in the 70s and 80s, was a bit of an embarisment to the Gubberment, as they were better armed.
