After talking to another friend of mine who races mx bikes, I was told to also consider honda cr125s and rm125s which also run for the 3grand mark.

As far as these two go what sort of age would I be lookin for. There is a honda cr125 on trademe an 03 model that looks real nice for 3 grand!

I would still go for the gas gas. and 07 model for 3 grand. (still nice and everything tight)
Or and 03 CR125 for 3 grand ( times the wear factour buy years)
Buying a dirt bike is a bit of a lottory, unless you know everything about the bike.
All bikes can be made to look great, but looks are less important, then well maintained running gears. (IMHO)

haha a bit of both, hard to answer that at present as I have only ever done trail riding on farms..but would definately like to try mx. I understand that the cr125s and rm125s are mx bikes, my biggest concern is getting a bike that is in good nick as I dont want to spend money completing rebuilding it after buying it lol.

The gas gas is more enduro.

the only thing to look for is what you would look for when buying any other bike. bearings, seals everything is straight. etc
iv never heard of them breaking gboxs, clutches any of the bottom end.
you could buy this for 3, spend 500 replacing all exterior bearings for peace of mind and do a piston and ring. and it would still be cheaper than buying a raped 07 rm/kx/yx125
we may just go where no ones been
