What would you do in that situation?
Risk being stabbed, have your dogs cut?

It's a fucking toughie over going to prison for murder, especially if another mob member came at you after the theoretical first.

I know the area well having hunted there myself.Back a few years it was quite common to return from a hunt to find your vehicle wrecked (windows smashed, tyres slashed etc) and god help you if you flew over in a chopper as the locals were quite happy to take pot shots at you.
Once when I drove through with heaps of neices and nephews on board I heard one local turn to another and say "Chur bro, meals on wheels".The V8 decided it was time to exit stage left very quickly!

I'm part Irish, does that count? Also part Moari, so maybe it doesn't.
What are the legal repercussions of shooting scum in the knee?

    Question Hmmm ...

Shows a bit of ka-honies standing up at all ... some guys would have dropped their stuff and ran ... but I guess if you were hunting in the Urewera's likelihood is that your a relatively large muscular ape like man, with an equally large sharp toothed dog or 3 by your side ... but maybe I'm just generalising!

I'd say alot lighter sentence than shooting him in the head. You'd probably get a bit of respect from the Mob for showing mercy too.

Hang on a mo,they had rifles the mobsters had knives, why would they not stand up to them,my first reaction to there standover bullshit would have been laughter followed by "whos first",pretty sure they would have slunk away.As the guy said if they had bought the knives out he would have shot them, not a nice thing to have to do but shitloads better than being stabbed.

It's a little different when you're actually in the situation. Takes alot of practice to keep a level head when you're being intimidated by a bunch of thugs belonging to an even larger bunch of thugs.

Nope, its a no brainer really.Choice A.be stabbed.Choice B.shoot the guy thats going to stab you. Many years ago i was stabbed in the back,no gun handy but if there was both then and know i would have used it,similar suituation to these guys in that i was going about my business at the time and it was totally unprevoked.
