    Classic Cover Insurance?

Just a couple of questions for any one who's insured by Classic cover insurance.
Thinking about insuring my bike thru them.
    Had a quote for my 99 R1 value $7500 premium $336py $350 excess
which i think is pretty bloody good..well very bloody good actually
(Quote from Kiwibike for $538.still good.)

Has anyone had a claim with them?.
was it easy and Hassle free?.
who's fault yours or someone else's?.
How fast was the claim approved or declined?.

Just need/want to know is it worth it(cheaper premiums)
or is it worth the xtra $202 to go with Kiwibike? as have heard nothing
    but good feedback about them.

You are wise to ask. That sounds like a very good premium but if the insurer doesn't look after you then......

I had an "at fault" accident, damaging my bike beyond repair. I was covered by Classic Cover.
My bike was whisked away on a truck. A little while later I got a phone call from the claims person who said my bike was written off,......whats your bank acc number mate, I'll put the money straight into your account. Sorted. That night $15K in my bank.
    Still with them

Classic Cover have had my bikes insured since they first started insuring "ordinary" (as opposed to classic) bikes. I'm embarrassed to say I made a claim within weeks of insuring with them and they sorted it no problems.

Damn! $336 per year is wicked cheap! Is it OK to change at any time? I've only recently change to Kiwibike which was over $200 per year cheaper than my original insurance!!

Been with Classic for four years now. Good prices and great service, they looked after me superbly when I needed them to. Premiums did go up a small amount but still cheaper than other insurers. Definitely recommend them.

Insurance premiums are going up across the board.
Most insurers are looking for up 20% increase to offset increasing costs and failing investment returns.

Had all 3 of my bikes covered with them until about 8 months ago.
Was good price, no probs but they would'nt insure me for trackdays. I tried to work a deal with them and thought they might help with me having 3 with them, but total refusal, which of course is their perogative, so I switched to Kiwibike for the same cover plus TD cover too.
My 3 bikes 2 x 04s & an 06 models, just over a grand a year, full cover with Kiwi, just a tad more with Classic.

All sounds good so far bar the non coverage of track days.

Just had an email from kiwibike insurance with a quote of $414.86py
    witha $250 excess.
The earlier price was done by there online calculator.
Includes track day cover dependant on insurers ok..

Hmmm sounds real good might have to follow this up some more.

I am covered by Classic Cover and am very happy with them but have not had to claim.

KB member "Keith the Pom" has had a claim, PM him, I was amazed at how good CC were with his claim!

Yes i have my 7r insured with them. They are underwritten by Vero so have some big $'s at their disposal. (I have not made any claims yet tho)
They don't insure newbees tho and you need a clean licence to get the good rates they offer.
If you do trackdays you will need to let them know and you must explain that it is an 'advanced training day' with instructors on track. I think the ratio is 1 instructor to 10 riders. Also you must keep your bike in road trim and have no track specific mods.

    Smile

Hi. 18 months ago I dropped my blackbird in my driveway after an awesome ride to Wairoa and was insured with Classic and found them excellent to deal with. Everything that needed to be replaced was (mirror , fairings etc ) and after I got it back I noticed a side cover that we hadn't noticed initially was cracked by a mounting bolt and they repaired that too no questions asked.

I haven't had any claims before though so don't know if that makes a difference or not but I would have no hesitation in using them.

I enjoyed the ride so much that even after dropping it I still had a smile on my face.

I have two bikes insured with Classic Cover. Had one minor off, over 3K damage. Fast service, quick fix, no hassles, happy to bring bike back to mint. Highly recommend these guys.
