Sounds like someone needs to harden the fuck up

Get a motard, perfect bike for winter... you'll learn to appreciate the phrase "Less is more" as in "Less traction is more fun".
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Yes, and I have a GPS unit on her, just to make sure...

Agreed to a point but the thought of a singles monotonous wailing along the straight bits at a mere 160 clicks somewhat puts me off despite the fun to be had upon arrival at the good bits.

    6000 at long last

It's refreshing to see a thread that is honest about tyre wear; instead of the bullshit posts "I get 10,000ks on my tyre"

I got 3000 out of my last Conti sport attacks, 4000 from Mich P2's, but I put on Conti road attacks last time - I changed my riding style a little, didn't brake has hard, rolled the throttle on a little easier - and I got 6000 out of them, including a South Island trip.

But to be honest - I prefer riding the bloody thing, opening her up while it's leaning over and belting out of the corner, braking hard and floating the rear into a corner

Pissed off that summer is now a long way off.

Pissed of that every weekend I don't work, it's raining and though you can get out on the bike you can't corner hard.

Pissed off that so many really nice bikes are coming out and you can't afford to upgrade.

Pissed off that every cop in existence seems to be a biker hater.

    Still Pissed off?

Think of the poor sods in the UK.. latest grad cops are on the street over there..and they are all bike haters!!

Straight-lining is never going to be interesting unless you are set on gambling your license. I'm not, so if it does 140 km/h easily it's fast enough for the road. (That said, they are not the most comfortable machines for getting to the good parts... but again HTFU! )

Oh, that and the fact that you don't have to travel far to get to good bits. At least not in NZ.

Four wet weekends in a row and the bikes gathering dust.
4000km a tyre! Bugger that, go middleweight, much better value.
Just curious, what mileage do you get out of the chain as well?
I got 25k from the original but made a dumb choice to fit a cheapo. Useless thing was slapping around in no time like a Vivian St whore. Expensive lesson in false economics.

Re your tyres, I think it's the bike. Those 1400's have massive amounts of torque don't they? Have you tried a sport touring tyre?? Totally agree with your other points except for the cops being bike haters, you'd be surprised how many ride bikes or used to.

On the upside, it makes you appreciate the Spring/Summer/Autumn riding when it's around a whole lot more.

If we had great weather all the time we'd take it for granted.

Chain and sprockets all good but the reason for that is a Scott Oiler. Original chain & sprockets have now seen over 30,000kms and no apparent wear as yet Hardly ever have to adjust it either.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.
