Yeah the 150's have been around a few years now in the SX range but what is significant is the new frame geometry's, with a steeper head angle, 22mm offset triple clamps and changes to the shock length, these should feel quite different to ride (although the changes will not help the fork action any) they might finally be trying to get rid of the KTM front end push, would have been easier just to change the 20mm off sets to 18mm but can't knock it till I've tried it and it possibly brings the geometry more in line with some of the jappa's.

Thanks for the pics, bling for you!

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

Surely it's legit, nobody would go into that much detail if they were making fakes to get the forums excited... if it were fake, it'd just be a photoshop of a couple of last year's models and no text.

I can't understand this bit, hehe:

    450SX-F
    ...
    >> New 5-speed transmission
    * Close-ratio 5-speed provides broader range for varying conditions
So it's close-ratio but it has broader range?

Because they've been close ratio 4 speeds until now. Mine's an 07 but i can confidently say the ratios are CLOSE lol... it's my only major gripe with my bike

I agree with Danger the welding of the steering head 10mm lower and the other changes should make them different/better to ride.

Secondly I bought my 08 (and by passed the 07) because it was a major revision year which seems to be every 3 years so.
Wonder what they have planned for 2011?? Although they have made quite a few changes to the chassis this time!
Who cares about the graphics (they look cool anyway) at least they are working on what really matters!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Hey Reckless, you hurt my feelings lol. The 07's got smaller carb, some porting changes and a different pipe for mellower power delivery. The guy that came and looked at your 200 finally bought an 05. Rode it on Sunday, power delivery a bit stroppier but felt like much the same machine. Rumour has it that 2011 will see some hefty changes. Doubt we'll see injected 2 strokes but I guess we'll find out in due course. Maybe economy will be back to normal by then so I can buy a nice new '11 model.

Ha mate that was by no means aimed at you!
I was just tryin to get one on the major revision year, I can't outride it anyway. Funny you say the 07 has softer power delivery because I think my 08 has a much softer power than the 03 we have. Not less power just more linear, more where you need it, which makes it a much better bike. Climbs better, better traction etc etc. A trend good they kept on with since the early ones!
If the 2011 is the next major revision its a year after that before I can look at one as I can't afford one off the showroom floor. So they have to get a year old before they come anywhere near my budget. Mind you that was the theory when I stretched to afford the 08 late last year!!
Now that Danger has done the suspenders I freaken love this bike!! I can't see myself coming anywhere near to outriding it within the next 2 years anyway!

BTW: re your mate, I got what I wanted as a trade in for the 03 so no sweat there. They put a new piston in at the shop and said it was A1, Didn't need it, but they do it as a matter of practice on 2 smokers!

Hey Reckless - Yeah I'd heard they tweaked the power delivery a bit more on the 08's. I still struggle to get good drive in the whoops, maybe will get around to fitting my flywheel weight soon lol. The bouncy bits got a decent massage on the 08 as well. Moved lower shock mount back etc. Be interesting to swap and compare 07-08 sometime.

In a way, kind of disturbing these fairly hefty geometry changes, You'd think they'd be closer by now. I backed off fork comp and rebound damping on mine, no headshake since but front end still needs a good seeing too. Still skittery on the sharp stuff. I wish I could afford to get mine 'dangered.'

Yeh We can swap sometime if you want. Actually I'm not entirely qualified to comment on Standard power as mine had a thinner base gasket fitted by the last guy who raced, to increase the compression for more power. So I haven't been riding a standard one. I'm going standard now as I'll set up the X dimension(compression) to factory and the power valve back to factory. So will be interesting to see how it changes the bike. At the mo I have higher compression and turned the power valve a full turn back from the last guy. I'm hoping going back to factory compression will enable me to smooth the power delivery even more. Then setting up the Z Dimension on the power valve will at least give me a factory start point ( I never had before) so I can advance or retard the power valve from there to my liking. I talked to him on the phone today and he said it will make it softer and more linear than it is know. So if thats true it'll be even more ridable for me. Interesting and fun to play with. Thank god for Ktm's LOL!!!

PS Even like it is I have never had any desire to fit a fly wheel weight, Knocking back the power valve a bit was all that was needed.

I found setting 'Z' height is a bit fiddly Reckless, I made up a little height guage. Pic in manual is misleading.
