I've only ridden the M3 which seemed really sticky but died a quick death accordingly (2500km, half the power of your bike, 180/55 though) . Reading overseas forums, I seems the consensus is these are pretty much the same tyre as (same factory, same compound) with a different tread pattern. What's cheaper?
This is the sportrider tyre test for what it's worthhttp://www.sportrider.com/gear/146_0...est/index.html
They didn't use a Zx!@ but...
One often hears the thing about same factory, same compound but while it's a possibility it wouldn't explain why the Rosso gets the better write up.

There is a grey blur, and a green blur. I try to stay on the grey one. - Joey Dunlop
hmm, thanks.
from what Ive read the two (rosso and m3) sound like they are basically the same tyre with a different tread pattern.
Me likey de Rosso's wery mucho or..Dem reifen sind echt geil du... gibt gas!!!
The Heart is the drum keeping time for everyone....
Ridden on both , metzlers are good but the Rosso's turn faster and are more confidence inspiring during high speed cornering , always change long before they wear out but the Rossos looked like they'd last as long as the Metzlers
Heard the Rosso's wear the front out at the same rate as the rear so if true bloody expensive riding . Get 10k out of my M3 rear & 16k out of M1 fronts on my Aprilia so two rears to 1 front & at $500-600 a set you don't want to be doing both tyres at the same time unless ya got a money tree out back .

Am in the same boat, need a new set but not sure what to get. Was thinking diablo corsa or bridge stones bt-016's, any one tried those? What do you think off them?
I have had most of your choices on my 7r over a 3 year period. The m3 is best in the wet, but can be shot in days, not weeks. The corsa 3's were better in the dry. In fact i did 3 track days on those and they were very good (for a road tyre) but the middle soon went. About 4,500 km on those.
Then i tried the BT016's. 'WOW'So much more grip in the dry (don't warm so well in the wet tho). These things rock, turn in faster, grip on the soft edge is awe inspiring, and with the extra hard centre they last better too. Had to adjust my suspension to cope with the extra speed at Puke'. I run a 190/55x17 on mine. Same as your 10r.

Really? I'm mid pace group 2 at MotoTT and I've done three trackdays on my M3's (one was wet most of the day) and heaps of commuting. They're in much better condition than my previous set of BT-016's were at this many km and trackdays. I'd say they'll last as long or longer.
But yeah the BT-016 is truely a "sticks like shit" tyre in the dry. It's profile is slower to turn but is very confidence inspiring at max lean. They're great under brakes too. My only complaint is they take a fair while to warm up. Some have complained about the wet performance but I never had any real moments - but then I don't do a lot of touring and wet open road riding.
meh i like my z4s
