Palmy Uni SMC anybody?

Would setting up a palmy university scooter and motorcycles club be useful do ya reckon? I was thinking lots of uni students will be just getting started with bike ownership and a club to help out with maintanance, riding tips etc may be useful.

Your thoughts?

Id say that would be a good idea.
If you got it sorted and asked one of the palmy bike shops nicely maybe you could work out a Uni club discount at that shop.
That way the shop gets your bussiness and anyone in the club gets a discount.
Will give people an incentive to join the club also.

You palmy guys don't even have a student bar! I know because we rocked up there late on a Friday and the security guard told us to leave. What gives?

yeh, it used to be quite big about 6 years ago, then they raised drink prices or summat cos its well dead now.

There are tons of bars to drink at in Palmy!

yeh, but none at the uni itself.

Yeh you musta been here a while ago, fats was average when i did first year, now it the brewers apprentice, and actually quite flash.

I think it would be a great idea - I would have utilized it when I was living in Palmy, even if it was just for information about repairs etc - some of the bike shops in Palmy seem to love trying to rip me off.

How many bikes around the uni? You'll find maybe one or two on kb already, but that'll quickly change (just look at the auckland uni smc)

theres quite a few round uni, at least 40 when its not raining i wud guess, mostly scoots though

. But what is the best to get the word out? im always a big fan of word of mouth, cos that requires the least amount of effort, but doubt itd be enough in this case.

We put out flyers first time round, with a stand out they could come signup at... and went from there (word of mouth, more signup days)
