    Talking KX85 or CR85

Found one of each that I am serious about... both 2005, both in good nick, both very similar prices (low-mid $2000's). Any pro's and con's or is more a case of potato potahto??

Ride both & see which you like. Could have different gearing therefore it'll ride way different - thats easy to change though but just thing to note. I've only ridden a RM80 & a CR80.

kx85 is supposed to be a better trail bike, doesnt quite bite as much as the cr

cr85 is faster, bites a little more.

depends what you want to do with it.

Me, I'd go for the bike that's still being made since it'd be easier to get parts for (I assume). Also green is a nicer colour

Hmmm my thoughts are : the honda might hold it's price a little better? But Kawasaki parts are maybe cheaper? Grah tearing hair out!

you can get cr parts just as easy, and will be able to for the next 10 years... some of us would argue about the colour as well...

Well the honda would compliment my red hair (as a honda salesman once pointed out) but i think the green would provide a nice contrast... but my gear is blue and black so that's gonna clash with both bikes graaaaah!!!

if they are in shops go have a ride on both of them!

i think the cr looks 1000x better than the kx due to having shrouds on both sides, having the pipe on the correct side, not having a rear guard shaped like a shovel that hasnt been changed since the 80's and not being green.

I thought the '05 had shrouds both sides? The one shroud thing does look pretty awful.

They're both far away like in mt maunganui & rotorua ... both just online dealers i think. just checked, the kx85 is actually an 04, and he wants $200 more than the honda guy for the 05....

not sure if the honda people are a shop, just importers and stuff, looking at the prices people on trademe are asking, it seems like a pretty good deal

i've found it easy as getting parts for mine. Only thing is the Honda dealers on the shore are bloody useless!! Kawasaki dealer on the other hand is awesum.
As i said before you really need to ride them & see which you prefer. We all have our preferences. No point buying based on colour or look if you don't even like riding it that much.
Maybe find some up here & test ride whether you intend on buying or not.
