FYI, when Suzuki went to the 800 in 1990, the pipes were still set low like the earlier 750S models.

The big changes were made with the 1991 model 800; like the 5L reduction in tank size & higher pipes!

Note also the 800's were water cooled from 1990 - between that & the extra pipe, that probs mostly accounts for the extra 15Kg dry weight.

Personally I'd go for a 750S: lighter, bigger tank, higher ground clearance, lower seat height. The only major downside is no rear disc but since 75% of braking power comes from the front(on the road at least) not a bother I reckon. And don't suppose the seat is THAT much more uncomfortable, hell replace it or restuff it if you're THAT bothered! And power wise what do you give up? 2HP, 4Nm in torque and 9kph in maximum speed - woopdedoo, I can live with it! I don't spend much time over 150kph anyways!!!

The paint jobs on some of the 800's look betterer tho!
    Cheers, Dave

I know of one 800 in Nelson, I saw it last year just as it was about to head down to the Burt Munroe, and had a close look.....
IMHO I prefer the looks of the 750 and the styling. I can live with 2 hp less and a little drop in top speed.
Have a look at ADVrider 750/800 forum for some nice looki 800's
On second thoughts I wouldn't mind Nave's 800, you know the one Dino

looks like a DRZ on steroids alright but it wont perform like one.
i think its a KLX front end,not sure of the tank. he's done the exhaust, jets and an friggin awesome airbox modification, but seeing the awesome shit he rides in he's certainally custumed the bike to suit.
Theres some pretty awesome BIGs on there but his one seems to capture the essence of a big boys toy.
ive even got one of his photos on my office wall, would love to ride over there some day

This site is a free sign up and I spotted a DrBIG workshop manual if anyone is after one Also has a 1990-94 DR250/350 Clymer manual.

Took them a wee while to send me my password, but otherwise good site!
