FYI, when Suzuki went to the 800 in 1990, the pipes were still set low like the earlier 750S models.
The big changes were made with the 1991 model 800; like the 5L reduction in tank size & higher pipes!
Note also the 800's were water cooled from 1990 - between that & the extra pipe, that probs mostly accounts for the extra 15Kg dry weight.
Personally I'd go for a 750S: lighter, bigger tank, higher ground clearance, lower seat height. The only major downside is no rear disc but since 75% of braking power comes from the front(on the road at least) not a bother I reckon. And don't suppose the seat is THAT much more uncomfortable, hell replace it or restuff it if you're THAT bothered! And power wise what do you give up? 2HP, 4Nm in torque and 9kph in maximum speed - woopdedoo, I can live with it! I don't spend much time over 150kph anyways!!!
The paint jobs on some of the 800's look betterer tho!![]()
