Wow... 27 keen buggers registered, & 4+ other strays down as starters, it might be a big one.
I have just updated the first post with some maps & ph numbers, Ann has offered to cook us dinner at the station, no doubt she'll be getting Malcolm to fire up the spit roaster with some home grown lamb &/or wild pork so it should be good
Sat night accom & dinner koha will be $25, bring cash. I am also taking beer orders now, Ann has offered to get some in for us for the Sat night, any kind you like as long as its Tui, PM/ph/email me by Wednesday 22 & bring $15 per 1/2 doz cash to pay for it.
Cheers
Clint
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
Finally got some internet access after about 5 weeks of intermittent dial up madness....
So gutted wont be able to make it now.... was looking forward to getting the africa down and dirty, looks like that will have to be reserved for the mrs as she comes back from overseas that weekend...![]()
Now: '96 XLV750 'Africa Twin'
Then:
2007 V-strom 1000
2006 VFR
1999 VFR
1996 Hornet
1993 ZXR
No worries, there's always next year.
Anybody not coming please de-register on the calendar so I can keep track of numbers, I'd really like an accurate count by Thursday 23 for the Sat night catering.
Cheers
Clint
Mate, I'd really rather not.
I've come to hate the long flights and on the ground it will be all work, jet lag, more airports and driving. It gets so that I'm looking for a chinese takeaway just to get a feed of vegetables and it may interfere with the remembrance run as well.
Looks like I have to spend next week in Oz doing the same stuff.
Earning a living sucks, eh?
Dragging this back on topic for a mo', you were contemplating joining Clint and the crew on this one - or is it just too cold after the territory?
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
Oh, yes I was, but, the idea of riding with 27 others in shitty conditions( read> first = ok road but havn to PROVE yourself every second, last means 100mm of shit on THE line!!), and I am just unable to acclimatise this time...I am moving toward being a temporary k1w1 just as soon as my daughter comes up to speed with the farm
( admit...not trying TOO hard)
I'm no gynaecologist, however I would be happy to take a look......................
Hey Clint, if leaving Rangitaiki at 8 on Saturday what time do you think the group would arrive at station??......I'm thinking that since I've ridden the Motu
recently & I can shoot down there any time, I might ride with the group to the intersection of Taumata & Wharekopae rds. Then blast thru to Gissie then up around East Coast & back to Opotiki with a over nite at Tokomaru Bay
would anyone else be interested in this as another option??
Cheers
Dave
Hopefully before dark...
Given it's going to be a large group I predict it will take most of the day to get to the station. If you wanted to head out around the cape you might be better off gapping it from Wairoa. Just make sure you let me know so we don't think we've lost ya.
Cheers
Clint
hi clint
