Supply and demand - we should also share some of the venom for the scum that are buying the stolen bikes / parts. Guaranteed they know.

The penalties for theft should be doubled, and the penalties for buying stolen stuff should be twice that!

Keep a watch for parts showing up on tardme . If they do show up proceed with caution , I had stolen gear show up & got zero help from tardme ,the cops could not get a search warrant as there was no real evidence that the gear for sale was mine simply a huge coincidence that I had gear stolen & gear of the same description came up for sale a couple of days later.
Never got the gear , & the arsehole never got caught . Tardme hid behind privacy etc .
Good luck , would posting up serial numbers help.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for the SM, very few of them in the country. I think I saw this one with the carbon pipes once a few weeks ago... commiserations, I thought they would be relatively safe from theft, given the ecu security and rarity.

Ask him how he got his smt seat, I'm still waiting for mine

    Cheers Big Dave,
Just to fill everyone in. I'd had the bikes in a neighbours garage for 3 yrs but her partners change often & the last 2 were "bottom of the Barrel" scum. She chucked the last prick out (A debt collector from Wellywood) finally on tues evening around 10pm. He had an unregistered Merc (Reg; CTA 571) in the other half of the garage & moved it about 10:15. I reckon He left the garage window open as He departed & His repo scum mates came in an hour later. dragged the bikes out to a trailer & gone! ! ! (No forced entry!)
The Cagiva was for sale on Trademe but no one had been to see it. I was gutted cos it was being well bid on & after trademe had rid me of the usual "Volunteer policemen" accusing me of be dishonest, I had to ring & pull the Auction. I did get trademe to apologise to the leading bidder for me (Once again "Sorry") The Neighbour was asleep in the house at the time & with her 2 dogs (under house garage with internal entry) heard or saw "NOTHING."
I believe these scum do not know about bikes & will slip up trying to offload them somewhere else in the country. So keep your eyes peeled, ears to the ground & hopefully we can nail these Bastards. The tigger was 2 weeks old in my fleet to replace the Navigator & wasn't insured.
    Cheers, Labrat.

I ordered the SMT seat from AMPs as soon as I could try one on the bike.

I ordered the SMT seat from AMPs as soon as I could try one on the bike. Just one cut to remove plastic tab from dragging across battery & voila. Fits like a glove!

For fucks sake!!! Why didn't you leave them the keys and a helmet for each bike? I'm sick of seeing all these bikes stolen - and I'm also sick of people practically giving them away.I couldn't afford to buy a tyre for even one of those bikes - and the bikes that I can afford, that I hope no one even wants....are insured, chained to a concrete floor, chained to each other,in a secure and alarmed shed. And I check them in the middle of the night.

I'm really, really sorry your bikes were stolen - but I hope you learn from this mistake.

Umm. they were all disc locked & 3 were cable locked together in a "U" shape. Not my shed to go drilling holes in floor but guilty as charged. Cable locks cut & hand trolley used to lift wheels off ground to manoeuvre bikes out! We know it was an inside job & have paid the price! ! !

Ah, excellent to know how easily the seat fits.

Looks like KTM NZ is dragging their feet a bit. I waited until the part number was available (so it could be ordered) but still.... oh well, given another nudge to Triple X Moto.

If they don't know what they are doing, check TM. There haven't been ANY KTM 990SM on trademe as far as I can remember.

The heat will go on , the gear gets ditched & never found, PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
Bitter experience talking.I got my revenge but not my gear & tardme were no help , well surprise, surprise.
People less charitable than me might consider them to be little short of a fence for stolen gear but of course I could not possibly comment

Damn , there has been a spate of thefts. Will keep a look out. Hope the culprits are apprehended and you get your bikes back.
