That's what happens when Corporate America lays people off. Over weight executives stop buying HD's.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single motorcycle

Obviously the Harley factories are just far to efficient.
Though it is a worldwide trend, The japs would be lowering production by thousands of units.

The 2009 figures would be interesting.
Meanwhile in China, factory workers at the Suzuki plant are being executed as worldwide demand weakens. Reports are coming in that GSX-R vending machines the world over are now running low on stock with some even running out of change.
So buy some tractors and whatnot now while it's cheap, then sell it in a couple months when the demand is up enough just before HD start making more?
The bubble had to burst sometime and since they caused it to blow it's only right Corporate America should suffer with the rest of the world.
HD has been know for a 'keep them lean and keep them keen' production policy - the last decade has just been a high with huge demand. Instead of running out excess models like Suzuki does through NZ etc (back-off I ride a Honda run-out model) HD will slash production. They have been looking at combining factories for a while I understand.
Interesting it's the Sportster and V-Rod they hit the hardest.
I'll be interested to see what happens with MV - bet there are not many of them being sold of late.
MV have got to be coming out with a new bike soon. The existing model has been there for, what, ten years? And they've fiddled with it and upped it to, what, 1152 now or something weird. Competition's much hotter too: the 1098, the new Aprilia V4, the bizarre KTM thing.
Hmmmm

But senior advisers, board members and tax lawyers are showing higher amounts of work time lost due to injuries due to playing with there kids and grandkids, doing work around the home, helping out neighbours, playing sport and generally suffering due to having a more active lifestyle.
