My 10 cents- whether youre on a 2 or 4 wheeler - if you hear an engine catching up with you it means its faster than you.The best course of action is to move over and let him/her/them pass. Obviously its easier to pass a 2 wheeler in tight sections than a quad. Ive also noticed that the tires of a quad stir up way more dust(when dry obviously) than a two wheeler does. This sometimes makes it virtually impossible to pass because of the fear of hitting rocks/ruts/obstacles that you cant see due to the dust cloud they produce.Trail rides arent meant to be competitive - some go for the scenery-some go for the practice-some go for the fitness and others purely go for the excitement and fun and adrenalin.
If your passing someone - be courteous and if you are being passed - let them do it safely. Ive noticed a lot of riders will thank you with a wave or a "Cheers mate" when you let them pass.
Whether you think you can or cant - you will always be right.

I normally let the faster riders past then try and pace them but normally only lasts a few seconds

I have few friends that ride "homo-chariots" but they all know what sort of damage they can do and are very aware of us on two wheels even to the piont if theres a dusty section they will pull over and let us go first
Not all quad riders are clowns they just need the extra training wheels thats all its not there fault they were not hugged as children
Even on the old ones if you dont race serious and you wanna just go do the odd club day and smoke everyone on a big old 5hundy it great and if you get beaten you have a handful of excuses

    My 2 cents

I agree with you. I am a quad biker and go to woodhill to have fun either going slow or fast I dont care.
If I hear or see another bike, I let them pass and carry on. Its just a good day out. If I want to go fast and race I jump on a real bike on the road to let loose there.

And plus quads are handy things, I have lost count the amount of times I have assisted, carred out or help recover a 2 wheeler. I just dont mind cause the majority of us, 2 wheels or 4 are there to have some fun.

Good chance that we'll go. Don't get to ride the quad often enough & there are quite a few other guys who're thinking of making it a groupie outing.

Provided I get the bike fixed in time (money doesn't grow off trees , especially for a student!) I'll be there for sure.

i try to stay away from the 2 vs 4 wheeler debate
i ride with mostly 2 wheelers a woodhill, and at the park like that each bike had good and bad points
