You rode it back? It doesn't count as a proper bin unless it came home in a trailer.
Sorry to hear jetboy, glad you're relatively OK, it could have been much worse, 70km/h is enough for serious injury. If the crash was due to a (unsignposted) pothole, I wonder if you could get the local council to pay for the bike repairs (insurance excess or actual repairs).
Know what you mean. You always feel worse in the morning once all the adrenaline has worn off! I came off and put the handlebars through my abdominal wall a couple of years ago...picked the bike up, rode home then went to hospital. Adrenaline works wonders!!
Glad your (mostly) ok. Take it easy and most importantly, get back in the saddle!
very lucky you didnt go the other way and land on those rocks man. I had a crash 2years ago on my 250 down coro loop at 100ks sumthin over shot a corner leaving me facing an oncoming bmw so decided to continue my course off the road onto a grass verge and pray that i could ride it out, but no both wheels slipped out leaving me sliding with one leg under the bike until that came to a stop hitting the post of the electric fence i kept tumbling all i was thinking was tuck ur arms in. anyway i came to a stop 30meters on the other side of the electric fence dont ask me how i got through the fence because to this day i dont know. i manage to walk away from that with just a sore foot. the bike was fuct. and i was only wearing normal jeans and tex jacket and sneakers. bike gods looked after me that days thats for sure.
Right - the end result is that I have a heavily bruised leg and 2x small fractures in the ribs. The doc gave me prescriptions for a shite load of drugs and sent me on my merry way.
Have discovered that laughing, sneezing, coughing, turning, and laying on my left side is all to be avoided.
On the bright side I seem to have located parts to get the bike back up and running, so it's just a matter of getting me working and it's back in the saddle! I can't wait!
Crikey! Sounds like you been in a scrum and ruck and maul! Ah well, got some good droogs and hopefully you won't have to bend down and pick stuff up too much.
Glad to hear you got some medical assistance and check up!![]()
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"![]()
Good work on getting that checkup dude, Take it easy. You will be noticing by now limitations of lifting etc.. will be kicking in. Be carefull around this time as your fractured rib or ribs are not as strong and if you keep disturbing the healing tissue it scars and takes longer to heal
So, in summary, Take it easy hehe, keep breathing deep ones. And when you can without causing discomfort or pain.
Go for a good push bike ride to get your lungs working, it helps with the healing! And you feel better imediately.
You will feel some movement in your chest from time to time, like its loose in there.. bit of clicking from time to time.. ignore that.. just take it easy.
Plenty of hot showers, don't get out of bed too quick, roll out as uposed to streight up.
Avoid bar fights :P
You may find lifting with the upposeing arm to your fractured side hurts more.. that is because you are now realising how many muscles we acually use !!!
After 3 weeks your back muscles will start to hurt, thats because you may not have used them as much as you normaly would, ignore that..
All the best dude
Any questions feel free to flick me a PM, I am still recovering and am up to my ribs are stronger stage but still have pain, so I know what you will be going through ehhe.
Oh yeah.. condine makes one constipated and it is addictive.. so keep a monitor on that. And Sleeping pills are slightly addictive as well, but FArrrrr good sleep for my first week..
gutted man. just thank your lucky stars your alive and safe. doesnt take much to break a neck

Glad you were wearing the appropriate gear. Imagine the nasty grazes if you were just wearing jeans!
