Yet still they manage to hit and kill innocent bystanders...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I thought that - maybe he was getting into character to play Stephen Wallace (that clown in Waitara who commited suicide-by-cop a few years back)

because they dont shoot to kill.

i find it hardcase that they had to fly a guy down from auckland with a taiser for that stick weilding guy, just get a couple cops with more sticks, problem solved. problem is the cops are too scared and always call the armed offenders
    Thats whats up.

    You always shoot to kill.

It is extremely hard to train anyone to shoot to wound or incapacitate. Even military snipers who may have years of training , not weeks or days as the average police officer does, is trained to shoot to kill.

The big difference being that a properly trained sniper will know his\her equipment a lot better, be more proficient in its use and therefore find themselves in a position to possibly shoot not to kill.

Hollywood has a shit load to answer for. Perpetuating the myth that in a stressful situation a person with a firearm will take the time to put a bullet in a part of the human anatomy that will incapacitate that person.

    Bah Humbug.

What I find strange about yesterdays event is that the person shot didnt have a leathal "golf club" or "chair leg" as we know that the officer on the ground is mortally afraid of those deadly weapons.

The offender had a knife. In fact two of them and a machete!

I cannot understand why the police were worried. They have been issued stab-proof vests...

Have the taxpayers wasted more money here?

    Three hands to weild them?

    Whats happened to containment.

If the antogonist is advancing then retreat, keeping him\her contained in a safety zone.

Stab proof vests, pepper spray, US style batons and numbers. They had it all their way.

Testosterone and adreniline take over and someone gets hurt.

Couldnt even wait for the quasi military to arrive.

From what I have seen of police marksmanship I am guessing that the officer fired a warning shot which just happened to hit the man. Couldnt have been aimed as it actually hit the so called offender.

Years ago I used to watch big game hunting movies where they shot huge nets over wild animules...maybe we could use them...or tranquillizer darts, or spray 'em with superglue or or or...whatever...

I reckon the dude was just rehearsing anyway...

I have missed this mans way of stating, that which we are all thinking, in simple terms.

What's the betting that P was involved in this?

Should just send in the armchair critics next time, they always know best, and given that they have no knowledge, training or experience in what they are talking about its not like we are risking much.

I think you'll find that even if armed with a stab proof vest, baton and pepper spray, their balls would shrivel up while they run in the opposite direction screaming for the Police to shoot him.

Pepper spray isn't much use in the wind or if you can't get close enough to use it.

I'm no knife expert but I like my chances of taking down a stab proof vest wearing baton wielding opponent. I'd shoot the fucker too if it were me.
