    Sprotbike vs HD debate

Lets take it away from he emotive thread of R1.

I bought a HD because it suited me and my riding style - ok I am short and slow. I have been on KB for a few weeks now and just dont get the anti-harley thing that seems to be going on.

Would someone please give me a logical debate as to why the negativity?

Hi there - a bloody good question as that thread got sooooo way out of line.

I live on the main road heading out to Taipupu (thus Akaroa) and get to witness all brands of bikes heading past my house.

Incidentally I've found stopping for a coffee at Little River a great spot to meet riders of all brands happy for a chat about bikes.

Rest assured regardless of what is ridden there are plenty of knobs speeding, passing on a blind corner and generally being foolish.

    Harley bashing?
It means nothing, mostly it's just light hearted banter in the same vein as Hondas are gay, Suzukis crash, Kawasakis blow up, Ducatis cost a fortune to maintain, Triumphs leak oil ............

And then there are the KB windup artists ............ who enjoy nothing better than slagging off someones choice of ride to get a bit of bitch-slapping going for a few pages.

Personally I'd rather debate exactly what makes the 'best pie' as I have found the smokey pork & water cress pie from Hilmorton Bakery in Coppel Place extremely good, but also thoroughly enjoy the Venison pie Hellyers of Lincoln make.

Funny you mention that as I was only told about them a week ago. Apparently they have not made it as far north as Christchurch yet, but on my next southern trip I intend to consume one (at least).

You do realise that on KB pasties are probably a poofters pie .....
