Why the fuck would any self respecting motorcyclist tell the coppers anything?

Guilty or innocent said motorcyclist will in all likely end up in court, many thousands of dollars will be extracted, many sleepless nights endured.

Judging by the familiar tone and continued reference to 'jean' in the original communique it would be safe to assume the copper has already made up his mind.

'Course the KB kangaroo court is well underway, and as usual armed with few facts you fookers are ready to hang the poor prick.

And following that through there is no point prosecuting a rapist because it won't 'un-rape' the victim?

Absolutely true ... sometimes. However there is little deterent value to the whole of society in one person's remorse for doing something dumb. Like it or not, society sometimes needs to see it's own punishment meted out. Eye for an eye I guess ...

And in this case we have three people with whiplash so they are hurt. Are they sufficiently unhurt for us to move on?

..........Except you don't know if 'one person' is guilty or not, in fact you know fuck all about the case!?

This is the type of thing that makes your mates look at you sideways for a long long time, and the person who did it WILL know about it by now, and HIS mates will emphatically not be amused, I am sure. Sometimes the natural punishment for things has a better long-term effect than any artificial consequences laid.

If everyone is insured and not hurt then it's time to move on and let everyone keep the lessons they have learned from it. I am sure the poor lady in the car will be watching her rear-vision mirrors a lot better from now on, and the driver that hit her will slow down around corners he cant see around, and lets hope the biker backs off scaring hell outa motorists.

    Leave it and move on.

    Steve
what about the fact that the lady possibly saved the bikers life.....going by your logic i wouldnt stop if i see you run off the road...

For everyone reading this thread, I was the front seat passenger in the Subaru involved in the accident near Greta Valley on Sunday. Firstly I'd like to thank the motorcyclist who stopped to see if we were okay. Although you received a tirade from our driver, I know that she was in shock at that point, and knows categorically that you were not involved. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop. There were three of us in the car, and although we all were able to walk from the crashed vehicle, we have all sustained injuries, for which we are still receiving treatment. We have been told that it may be several months for the injuries to be completely healed. I understand that situations like these always create speculation as to what exactly happened, how it happened and where the accountability rests for the event.

I believe it is both relevant and pivotal, to clarify that our driver, drives thousands of kilometres every year as part of a job in which she has been employed for many years. Her driving experience is considerable. If it had not been for her defensive driving ability, we would all have suffered much more serious injuries. We consider ourselves very lucky to have not been killed in this accident.

Secondly, we all witnessed the event as it unfolded, and our collective memory of the event is identical. We all very clearly saw the motorcyclist at the front of the pack, who is the subject of this discussion.

This is not an issue about "narking" on anyone. It is an opportunity for all those involved to reflect on their actions - or lack of them. I continue to be astounded that neither the motorcyclist who is the subject of this discussion, nor any of that person's fellow - following - motorcyclists bothered to stop to see how we were. They could not have avoided seeing the accident. I know it takes courage to step up to the mark in situations like this, but it is the mark of a person's courage that enables them to be accountable for their actions.

Hear hear - whoever it was, you allegedly farked up. Stand up ad take your medicine or at least put forward your side of the story, or forever be labelled an arsehole. Someone must know who it was. NZ is too small. 2 degree separation etc.

Bullshit, firstly, most kiwis cant drive for shit, secondly just becasue u do something regularly doesnt make u competant(sp) or good ( taxi, lorry and bus drivers are classic examples of dangerous drivers ) .. and lastly teh cheesewire safety fence would have saved you.. the govermunt tells us so.

im all for personal responsibility but it goes two ways...

And by the way.. wasnt me.. i would have waved
