    First time at the races...

Yes indeed folks, myself and mini max took your great advice and headed on over to the practice day at Mt Wellington this afternoon

Had a great time, huge thanks to Pumba for making is so welcome and taking the time to explain the finer points of bucket and pocket bike racing. His explanation of Pukekohe in general was classic, still giggling over that one..

All the other guys and gals were really cool as well, all giving mini Max a smile, mind you he was not to keen on hopping on the bikes today.

Really enjoyed the pocket bikes, one of those has gone on the young 'un's wish list, I reckon Christmas 2020 should be time enough.

Then it was time for Pumba and the lads to get out there, I was really impressed to see the work and dedication that goes into getting these bikes moving like they do, really stood out for me.

Left after about an hour or so with a strong promise to return next month for the race day. To say I am hooked is a huge understatement.

So, a HUGE thanks guys, really enjoyed our afternoon and I have attached a few snaps below of the day.

In the words of a gay Austrian body builder dressed in someone else's leather pants..."I'll be back...."

Onya FM. Glad the nipper is hooked as well. Be warned though, the bastards will have you racing soon. I've been watching a few father-son battles in the Actrix Winter Series too and I can't wait for my girls to get racing. The inter generational stuff at the track looks like it builds incredible relationships. So get him out there giving Dad the learn.

Funny you should say that but all the way home the lil bloke was talking about racing me as soon as he gets his bike...

Pumba and I did discuss the Pocket Bike Fat Bastard Cup, 100kg and over bodyweight etc etc but it may not take off....food for though eh...ok, maybe not..!

Right, best tune the bike up cos the boy is nipping at my heels..!
