We went North about 1pm and had lunch at Tarawera. Really great food at a great price. Had a chat to the owners and found a lot of history going back 3 generations from people we new in common. Great people, great food and they will see us again soon.

Hope you all got out today and enjoyed the roads. Lotsa bacon and nearly went deaf with the beeper thing.
Good to hear that the riders appeared ok. Never nice to hear a rider is down, even if they are from near or far. Good ride to Tarawera. Think he is planning to have a bike event there in November.

Got to agree big guy.... The Tarawera is certainly a different (better) place to visit now. The new owners are a lovely couple...very obliging, if you dont see it on the menu......just ask... they'll soon make it, and very reasonably priced too. Highly recommended, they should do well in the summer with the local bikers. The bike on the wrecker at the Summit was a black Firestorm.... hope he wasn't too hurt. As Steve says gotta be real careful on that run from the Summit Kiosk north down to the bottom of the passing lane....still frozen through the top section at 1.30pm today. The ride back home was awesome, the new section through Dillons Hill is shaping up nicely....roll on summer

I've learned... that to ignore the facts does not change the facts

Do you seriously expect me to believe that these politicians would implement policy based on nothing more than bullshit......

Looks like a rider down on HW5, which is that, Wairoa or Taupo rd?

Said the guy's name over the air in communication between cops etc.
But I better not post it or the site Nazis will kick my ass.
Dunno how serious but tow trucks are on their way.
Seems he was on a Honda and I think it involved a car as well.
Check tomorrow's paper, someone on a moped got cleaned up on the intersection of SH2/Napier Rd last night. Made the Haumoana FB callout, 4WD with bike underneath it, rider status 1, nothing to do except block the road off & await the serious crash unit by the time we got there. Hope the rider pulls through.

Pays to ride a real bike, one with real tyres. Status 1 is better than Status 0 though.

It really did look very unloved. Specially as it was next to the R1 that the whole crowd wanted to look at. Gixxer 4 ever
