Can be interpreted however you see fit, that is my point.

I think your question is quite wide as I see it, even though I think I know what you mean.

I could argue that I get maximum fun out of the bike every time I ride it. But I don't get maximum speed out of it every time I ride it and nor do I get maximum lean every time I ride it.

I suppose I rank the joy of riding it above all else and in that sense, yes, I do get maximum out of it every time...
Good points slofox, I was meaning its full potential but as I said above, interpretation is the key. My question in itself is rhetorical cos I know the answer but the views of the many is what I am after.
    Good post mate.

I get MAXIMUM enjoyment from any ride- be it to work, or the Dairy, or just to hoon down coast road!

I have never yet reached full speed on either bike I have, but felt the very edge of traction more than once and was fortunate enough to be able to back off a bit without wiping out (and tbh thats was more luck than skill)

My best mates zx9r arrives in featherston at least 3 minutes behind me, but we never race....we do our own thing and once past Featherston he ends up waiting for me at Martinborough - so I dunno who gets 'maximum' of the two of us...the straight line drag or the enjoyment of the Hills tight bends as quick as my tyres allow- its academic really take ya choice

But we BOTH feel like we have had full use/max fun, every ride, every weather condition, every time we go out

    So...maximum, but maximum what?

    Yeah sort of,
I will this post as an example (and not having a go at Morcs either) of they way some view the fact that those that own sports bikes possibly shouldn't.

Ah but my post has no relation in regard to pushing a machine to its limit. Merely commenting on basic riding practices. Fundamental things. Im not talking about being cranked over, apexing corners, knee down, chin almost on the road wank wank stuff either. Just safe and efficient means of cornering, when to brake, when to start turns, holding the turn, when to get on the gas etc.. so that at any time, you are the least compromised you can be if a cow appears in the road or something.

I no longer ride to the maximum me or my bike can. I wont buy another sports bike in a hurry and havent had a ticket in 8 months. *touch wood*

Not I - because I tend to buy bikes that are slightly more powerful than I will need. That extra power on tap is useful should it ever be needed, but there's no way in hell I'm going to ride the streets at the limits of a v-twin thou.

So I guess the answer is I buy them because I don't need all the power, but have it there just in case
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details
