    Transilvania Trophy

    Found this while surfing advrider.com

    http://www.transilvania-trophy.com

It's an organised stages rally in Romania, 4x4's, 4 wheelers & moto's over man-made & natural stages. There's 2 years events in downloadable movies, 700mb each. It concentrates a bit more on the 4x4's & 4 wheelers but is commercial quality and seems pretty good so far, and I'm only 10 minutes into the first one.

    Movie download page:

    Enjoy.

I saw this last year and got the movie. I gave up because it was just focused on 4x4's. It seemed a rally for rich people.....
good coverage for a feebie though if you like that sort of rallying...
I really liked the Camel trophy bacause it pitched the vehicles against one another and also made the tasks to complete a competition between the persons.
They chose everyday people with some skills, i.e Firefighter, lawyer, doctor etc.....
The terrain was awesome, deserts, jungles and they really had to fend for themselves....

It finished in 1998 or something and became the G4 Challenge...

The prize is a Range Rover for winning the event but it has to be donated to the Red Cross or Red Crescent....
The set up for the vehicles are all Landy extras except for the self recovery winch...

I would like one, they are orange.....

They are very orange! A mate here in Chch has one - 110 Defender TD5. Very nice machine. They have an anti stall system where the computer increases engine revs and slips the clutch if it thinks it is going to stall. You can let it drive itself anywhere and it will almost try and climb a brick wall - crazy stuff.

    Cheers R
